Any Marvelous Mrs Maisel fans? I've been working on making my house look as similar to her apartment (when she gets it back and has her parents living with her) as possible. No kids bedrooms though. Basement is based on the Miami club where she went with Lenny Bruce and the Cuban was singing Loco Amor. I'm trying to think of ways to decorate the island like NYC. I have some medieval walls in brown that I think look kind of like NYC buildings, as well as some street lights. Somewhat limited atm since I am not far enough along to use terraforming or island builder

I have reached a rut with designing my island. I want to go with more forestry/flower design. My residence services is right on the beach, so I hid my resident services kind of with only one way out. once you have able sisters unlocked, go in there and click on the custom design machine & make a bunch of dresses with any design. place about 100 of them or so, and once you get your rating, you can remove the design and all of the dresses will go away altogether

there are these things called treasure islands.. :3 people make islands full of items for people to grab for free, there are a bunch of dodo codes for them on twitch

you can collect gold nuggets or royal crowns to sell them for bells

What would your preferred fence be next to a beach? It's going in between the neighbourhood and the beach. I was thinking either the bamboo lattice fence or coral fence, but I'm really doubting.

If you go forest type, definitely more green. Also if you place the weeds nicely they add a really nice touch.

A dirt path also is really nice for a forest theme, there are a lot of nice ones shared in #path-codes

Quick feedback: does the ivory or light brown ruined pillar look better? Leaning towards the brown.

I'd say go for the brown tbh unless you were to swap to stone stairs then go for the ivory but the the brown kinda seems more rotten and worn out then the ivory if that makes any sense

Kinda give it an older more bashed up vibe

But the ivory goes alot better with the wall tbh if you wanted to go that extra bit and change the stairs

Thanks. I'm considering switching out the incline for stone. I might swap one and see which I like better seeing them side to side. The issue is I really like that custom bridge path and dead set against changing it, but I think the stone inclines would clash with it.

Hello! I've been renovating my island to a citycore kind of look with all my villager's houses being a building you would find in a city. As in, chia's house is actually a cafe, Sherb's is a pizza restaurant, Tia and Whitney's houses are ritsy homes in the suburbs, my house is a Chinese restaurant, and I plan on making Muffy's and Cherry's houses into apartment looking buildings. This leaves Goldie, Lilly, Lolly, and Etoile. I have no ideas yet for how to incorporate their homes into my islands theme. Btw I do have the home designer dlc so I can edit their houses to make it fit more. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

It depends how you want to do it. Some tear it down completely, I do it one section at the time. It all depends on your own preference.

I suggest doing it section by section if you don’t have a lot of spare time. For example, I started with the lowest ground level first then worked my way up

I use the Lightroom app to edit all my photos! A lot of creators will sell “presets” for super cheap too which is helpful if you’re unsure how to edit! 🤍

Looking for advice on this area! I'm trying to decide on a way to handle the pathing in this area in a way that feels natural and not too awkward looking. The idea is that it's gonna go up and around the house on the right, actually it's the part I'm struggling the least with. It's mostly the bottom leading up to the top that I just can't get right

I've been using this dirt path but every way I try it, it's a very awkward looking shape and just looks like a big brown spot. It doesn't look as natural as I'm shooting for

i try to break up natural paths with other fixtures like weeds, rocks, etc to force them to "wind around" a lot

There's also "fake curves" where you just force the path around on itself

I guess try not to think of the path like a "road that people follow" and more like "the wreckage/stripped path from people running through the foliage"

Personally I'm rather basic and use Denim2Mori's dirt path, the one that started it all lol (MA-6647-9230-4716)
I use it along with additional narrow pieces from srtm_mtr (MA-2762-1444-2350)
And intertwine it with a compatible set featuring a couple of additional weeds from ArtfulAnya (MA-5793-0878-8402)

That clearly is done with either mods (aka hacking) or image editing, though I think it's less likely to be just editing: everything is recolored and that item is custom and doesn't exist in the game. That person's newer post just above proves this too

@sour valve so I've never seen one like that but during cherry blossom season you can layer hardwood trees to make a bigger cherry blossom tree effect using hedges to hide trunks and cliffs

The only improvement I see would be to change the planks near the giant teddy of the first image, and instead use a path that allows diagonals or curving, because that plank pattern isn't made for non-straight or wider paths such as here (and it is also mildly overwhelming given the amount of times it's used on that small area)

Technically nothing prevents you from getting a 3-star rating to unlocking terraforming without having built the museum. You just won't get the development points for it, but those points can also come from other sources such as shops, bridges, inclines, villager homes, even placed items
