ah, your issue is that those are new leaf designs ^_^ theyre compatible with new horizons, but harder to download because theyre from an older game

its much easier to find new horizons designs you like and just go to the custom design portal and entered creator codes — they always start with MA- like the one below

I'm wanting to funnel the default stone path from 2 wide to 1 as shown in my poor mock up. My mockup is using the image file for the stone path image from nookipedia, but it doesn't seem to be a 1:1 copy of the the path in the game. When I import it to acpatterns I just get a blurry grey mess. Does anyone know if someone has already made a custom pattern to do this? If not any tips on making a seamless pattern would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know of one that would do that perfectly, but what you should probably do instead of trying to copy the full path is make overlays as i discussed with someone else here: #acnh-chat⛱️ message

I'd definitely go on a search then! With my searches, I used both Google and the designs in the able sisters tab in this discord. I also search YouTube too, especially since I don't have online, so I gotta make my patterns up. I'd do one of two things. Take something from the game, like the ac leaf and make a bunch up yourself, which gives you the freedom, if you're able to (alternatively, you could probably ask someone if you find it difficult to design yourself), or just go on a big deep dive of scrolling and searching. When I search, I do selective words like 'acnh stone path pattern', and a bunch will come up. But, only thing is with that method, it doesn't guarantee results always, especially for niche things, but, the upside is you'll get bombarded with a bunch of styles and people's work that you can either grab the codes of, or try to replicate the pattern of, if that makes sense! Could try searching 'acnh styled stone path' and see if you get more results!

It may be a thing where you take how something looks in game and design something yourself, like, wanting ac leaves on the ground, draw or screenshot a tree and design a bunch as big or little as you'd like. You could have someone design it for you if they're able, if you struggle with pixel art or trying to get things right

the first one is called a "nine-tile path" or a "nine-design path" usually . the second one is called "path borders" — the middle part is not part of the design, its the official stone path, and the custom pathing is only on the edges

I'd start by learning the grid. Learning the sizing of things, the style of how you'd convert something simple like a heart into pixel art, basic pixel shapes

As for road designs, I'd heavily suggest looking at tutorials on yt! That's what I did for mine and the road was AWESOME for my old island. Especially ones that tell you how to create a wood like structure, like wooden boards as paths, etc and trying to get it right. It's a lot of trust the process and guessing, but after a while, you get the hang of it! I'd definitely go onto Google also and search up something in pixel art and try to recreate it like that!

It does take a bit to get used to the style of pixel art, as it threw me a few days ago when I went to create again, but you'll get the hang of it!

I want to use the in-game cobblestone path to make most of the ways to get around my island.

I would also like to have road lines/crosswalk lines that go over the cobble stone paths to make it feel like a town. In addition, I want sidewalk paths next to my roads.

Here are some I thought you might like! You could extend the custom path and place the sidewalk pattern on top of it. Just use a completely solid pattern. Solid in terms of the pattern itself, where there's no transparent pixel used in the pattern. I added a few sidewalk designs that should be completely solid.

If you are wanting a realistic look for the bricks, i recommend darkening the reds and adding a little gray to each as needed! For the paths, I would recommend emptying out the white spacing to blend with the ground more easily

You just need to place the design on the edge of whichever in-game path you're using. Most borders will work only if the path is atleast 2-wide. But some sets will have a version for a path that is 1-wide. A set would also usually have part for vertical, horizontal, outer and inner corners too.
I like using borders! I like that it keeps the sound of the path you're using and I'll usually see villagers along that path too.

Well the actual way to MAKE custom designs and what not is by using the Custom Design App on your Nookphone!! (I also recommend getting the Custom Design Pro upgrade via the Nook Stop) and you can make designs through there

Also, only one custom design can be used in a given tile. So you can put it over the default paths the game offers, but you cannot put it over another creator's design.

Found a reddit post from 3 years ago where this image originated. The designer of this build left the MA codes in the comments. I checked them myself to make sure the specific code for the metal grates are still active, and they are! Enjoy! 🙂

ty, the second one looks similar but the border pieces are different (they dont have the dark piece at the end) and the grass/moss beneath isnt the same. i think the one im lf is also smaller plank size based on the angle of the photo. the first code you sent doesnt have the bleached/blonde color

I searched for the title "Bakery Shelf" from that design you had selected. Once I found the right design, I then searched the creator's MA which led me to here. Turns out all those codes are form this same creator! Hope this helps. 🙂
