My dad is a worker in a Mining Company known as Hitachi Trucks. Always has been ever since I was born and before that. So, as a result, my Dad travels a lot. Including where Hitachi’s headquarters are at. AKA… Japan.

As such, given Japan is basically the Capital of all things Pokémon. You just know that my Dad as I’ve said previously is the kind of parent who’ll indulge in his kids’ interests… even if he doesn’t personally get it. But he knows it means a lot to said child so… he will do anything to get it to make sure that they’re happy.

So Dad throughout the years of going to Japan always gotten me Pokémon merch. Albeit Pikachu themed banana cakes with pudding in the centre, plushies, etc, etc. that you can only find in Japan.

Soooo as of late, he went to Japan again and he told my Mom he’s going out one day to the shops with his co worker to get some stuff to bring back home for us… and just know… I found out that in Japan they just released a special plush but not any special plush…

And I found out sadly… it’s a Japan exclusive item.

And I wanted it… so badly.

In this case just a plush rather than a kitten.

So I had to gather a lot of confidence and get the okay with mom if I could ask for it and cue my Dad saying he’ll try. And since I’m a bit of a bundle of anxiety when things are unpredictable like this… especially if I want something this fiercely… I had to look online for alternatives just in case.

Because I knew that’s what my Dad would’ve done in my shoes and no lie… most online stores had them sold out.

And EBay I don’t need to get into with how you don’t know you’ll get the real deal.

But I had to trust in fate will give me hopefully this one chance.

Soon as my Dad came home… no plush in sight and while I was disappointed but I knew since EBay had multiple for sale, I could go ahead and try convincing him to order one off online.

Cue me just trying to justify it as a Christmas gift and everything. My dad seeing me literally shake… that’s when he asked me straight up: “You want that plush that badly?”

Cue me nodding and saying yes.

Cue my Dad: “Okay, look in the top shelf in the closet and in a white bag.”
Me: WHAT!?

And I got her!

He went to the Pokémon Centre in Tokyo for me to get her.

The Pokeball was back when I was between 7-8 years old, it was the Pokéball you launch into the air with a thick chord attached and a mini Pokémon plush came out of it. The bigger Pikachu is from my childhood where a boy won it in a claw game in Restaurants and once he found out how much it meant to me, he gave it to me. And the Pikachu with the flower is also from Japan as I got her for my 24th birthday when my Dad was out of town.

The wolf plush is my first ever gift from my husband. The lion is my first ever Webkinz from my grandma.

The calico is just there because it has my favourite colours.

Well… my very first Pokémon related Wii game was Pokepark 2 cause we didn’t have Pokepark 1 growing up. I played it with my cousins and we had to practice taking turns. So when it was my turn my assigned Pokémon character was Tepig. Also my first Pokémon game for the original DS before 3D was Pokémon White Version 2 not the og White. And I remember being full Tepig evo line all the way. I am a Unova man to the end and I will die on this hill for that. I love all the Pokémon from that Gen 5 game. Though I do question why in a flashback I’m having rn why I had an Onix in my very first playthrough minus the additional storyline with the villains. Cause Onix is like almost a constant add on to the games. Meanwhile I’m keeping the ones who are uniquely tied to that region imo.

Apparently Banette is Gen 3 I just googled but like there’s still some characters that are a mish mash of my Gen 5 roots and just what I vibe with.

In all honesty is genuinely up to you as I think the only real huge difference between ACNH Switch 2 and the OG version is having a mic feature. So… I don’t think it’s worth it.

I only gotten my Switch replaced recently is because my battery was awful and died way too fast for its own good so I had to replace it.

It has megaphone, mouse controls for building, bulletin board and custom designs, and the reso upgrade (which is only useful if you even have a switch 2 cus rn it stretches the switch 1 reso to a switch 2 screen)

I would say only get switch 2 if you care about the other switch 2 games atm, not just for new horizons

Also switch 2 has the usb c at the top as an option which as someone who uses tabletop is a GENUINE lifesaver

And the kickstand isn't flimsy like my 2017 model and doesn't feel like a toy

If you have the OLED or later switch models upgrading is less crazy of an upgrade

But if you have the 2017-2018 model, yeah nah, the upgrade to Switch 2 is crazy

the amount of customisation is crazyyyy

Well to answer that

I should first state I am not a kirby guy

I only played like 2 games prior because kirby is not usually my cup of tea lol

And when it comes to Nintendo racing games, I lean more to mario kart

Me neither tbh, but I do like trying new games. I havent rly found anything worth working over 500$ for a whole new console for, so im tryna collect a list of games that would make it worth it. I do rly like Mario kart though, which is why this has been looking interesting to me.

And I do think comparing this and MKW is unfair because whulst both feature racing

Both are VERY different fundementally

I think Kirby Air Riders is the more complete and polished experience

And feels like a true Switch 2 game

One thing about kirby air riders worth noting

Air Ride (aka racing), is not the main mode of this game, City Trial is

City Trial has you in a giant city where you pick up upgrades for your vehicle ranging from speed, turning, gliding etc - and you have a set amount of mins to build up your vehicles stats and attack others, all the while events take place.

Once the timer is up, you duke it out in a minigame based on what is best for your stats (or you can risk it for the biscuit in a minigame you might have a disadvantage in)

Each machine changes the gameplay dramatically

I mean, opinions vary a lot, for me, I’d say it’s worth it because of the chaos in public lobbies, the VERY big soundtrack, the intermissions, the courses and the amount of npc drivers added, but people find the intermissions boring because it’s basically “driving in a straight line”

To be honest I quit hsr whilst my characters were 60 and my genshin characters still have mid artifacts and not all of them are leveled. Now we’re underdeveloped and I haven’t done Fontaine or the new region with hot motorcycle mama archon so then I just gave up!

However in my summer fall break of trying out mobile mmorpgs and world builder sandbox type games I’m a little bit less appealed by mmorpgs mainly just cause of mistreatment and bad experiences but now I’m okay with some…? Not all????

But world builder sandbox type mmos I’m okay with cause not everyone is a pain to listen to or just oddballs on the internet. Also this one with cute villagers at least gives me faith in social interaction lol haha

lmao I will not hesitate to say that Nintendo absolutely did not fully flesh out ACNH before releasing it. I think a lot of its games are like that these days since they know they can just push online updates later on, so they don't feel pressured to actually fully flesh out a game anymore before putting it out. and they know they have brand appeal and people will buy it anyway 🙃
