called Virtual Game Card

which lets you move digital games to another Switch like you would a physical copy

you'd open up VGC

and drag the game over to Switch 1 and it'll transfer JUST the games you chose

cuz the way I see it, you usually get the blue shell if you're having trouble catching up so you should reasonably be able to have it hit other racers so that you can have a better chance of catchcing up

it devastating first place is just a bonus to me and a way to balance the race

the blue shell originally acted as a great equalizer that would bring first place down to the rest of the pack. Now you are slowing down other people along the way, which makes it harder for them to catch up to first

If you don't want to play the new "drive to course and only play 1 lap of said course", vote for random and not a specific course.

Random always chooses the course with the traditional lap formula.

Aka you just race the track only (whether it be 3 laps or a course with segments etc)

Alright guys, it's officially tin foil hat time.

This new spinoff and Splatoon 3 update is basically confirmation that Nintendo EPD 5, Animal Crossing's development team, isn't working on Splatoon, or at least not primarily. They're not gonna allocate all their resources on a spinoff.

EPD 8/Tokyo are working on Donkey Kong Bananza, a 3D platformer, so a 3D Mario is also pretty much impossible.

The release title for the Switch is Mario Kart World, a skill-based multiplayer party game, so I highly doubt they're gonna release a new Super Smash Bros to compete with that for this holiday season.

The newest Zelda is still far too recent and Nintendo published updated ports for both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom to bridge the gap, plus there's Age of Imprisonment coming out this winter and that's definitely not THE holiday title.

Metroid just isn't that big of a system seller, even if it is a big release, so I don't think that Metroid Prime 4 is gonna be this year's big holiday title unless Nintendo REALLY wants to, but I doubt that they'd gamble the first holiday title of their new console on a traditionally more secondary franchise. Definitely a big deal when it comes out, but not the main event.

And as much fun as I had playing Kirby Air Ride and love to see Kirby Air Riders, let's not kid ourselves, that's also not gonna be the thing they'll push.

Pikmin is even more niche than Metroid is and just had a release, and a pretty controversial one at that. I highly doubt we'll see another one for at least a couple of years.

So unless Nintendo wants to revive one of their dormant franchises (Star Fox, F-ZERO, Kid Icarus, etc) or base their very important first holiday title of a new console on a new franchise, both of which are highly risky, I only see two options for them.

Either it's a new Luigi's Mansion (which would be the third Mario-series title), or, what is FAR more likely:

A new Animal Crossing.

For 3DS it was Super Mario 3D Land.
For Wii it was Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
For DS it was probably Super Mario 64 DS.
For GameCube it was Super Smash Bros. Melee.
For the Gameboy Advance it was probably Wario Land 4 or they really pushed Mario Kart Super Circuit for a while (idk I was 3 in 2001).
For N64 it was either Super Mario 64 (which was the launch title released in June) or Mario Kart 64 (which came out on Devember 14 in Japan, that was probably the holiday title if they didn't have the hardware failure)

From here on out the whole "holiday title" thing didn't really exist as it does now since gaming wasn't seen as it is today.

For SNES it was most likely Super Mario World.
For Gameboy it was probably Tetris.
And for NES it was definitely Super Mario Bros.

So... Do you mean Wario Land? That was for a handheld, so idk if it's in the same league as the other consoles. Something that I just remembered: Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is releasing in 2026. Considering both it and Animal Crossing are life simulation games, I highly doubt that Nintendo wants those two games to compete.
...Which makes it even more likely that Animal Crossing is releasing this November with the new Tomodachi Life releasing sometime in the summer of 2026, so Animal Crossing gets the holiday sales out of the way first.

Hello, not sure exactly where to put this. But I own the ACNH special edition switch, i got it second hand off of ebay and used to play ACNH all the time on it but when i fired up the switch and updated Animal crossing it says I don’t have the game any more. I went to the nintendo shop and it says i don’t own the game, my guess is thats because whoever bought the switch before selling it to me claimed the code on their account or whatever but if thats how it works im curious how i ever got to play it on my account in the first place. Any ideas on what I could do?

My theory of a new amimal crossing game

I reckon it will take place on a holiday park (like with caravans, tents, lodges etc), aka combining all the games - and for the first time, tents are something you can have if you want and have different size tents etc

And cus its a holiday park, shrunk is the club manager who does shows at night and jokes, and fun games during the day like scavanger hunts - and kk slider does songs every saturday at the club

There be a swimming pool you can swim in, a gym etc, and you can have ROOMMATES, you can live with another villager if you want in a caravan or house etc -

And a snowy mountain opens up during winter with skiing and lets you have hot chocolate etc, and theres a theme park nearby full of rides (photos at funny drops etc), and games to play etc
