i got insanely lucky honestly. my mental health freshman year was really bad and i legitimately had no goal in life cuz for several reasons i didn't even expect to get to high school (physical and mental health problems)
and i ended up getting just randomly filled into an intro to engineering design class my freshman year since they wouldn't let me forecast for the school i go to (i got a boundary exception cuz my home school is actually a hellhole) and they don't have woodworking (what i chose) at the school i switched to

which i think saved my life honestly

cuz my engineering teacher is genuinely the sweetest man ever and he's such an AMAZING teacher- i ended up taking the 2nd year class to see what it was like and i LOVED it soo so much. and i was always intrigued with robotics bc of that and the team my school has-- but i've really wanted to work with marine life for a while. and then for some odd reason my state history class ended up showing a video of AUV production and driving and i fell in love

now i'm about to start my 3rd year of engineering classes as well as a 2-year pre-engineering program that has a free built in internship and will have me graduating high school with industry certifications

i plan on doing robotics this year since it seems cool and should look good for college - especially since our team ended up being an alliance leader in the finals FRC worlds

so looking forward to that makes everything so much less stressful-- because i know that i'm gonna be able to make good money doing a job i love, even if the path to get there is rocky (i'm gonna have to all the way across the country for college which is terrifying for me, and engineering can be difficult)

using AI professionally is very innappropriate in most if not all art industries, that's not what it's for
the reason AI is becoming such a problem is because people are assholes and not using it the way it's meant to be used
it's meant to be used IN CONJUNCTION with human work
like one of the best examples is programming-- ex. a programmer goes "hey mr. robot, how can i do "x, y, z, while doing a, b, c, in C++ in the most efficient manner"
and mr robot generates a few lines of code
mr programmer can then use that code as a FOUNDATION for what he's doing-- because it's meant to be a supplemental resource; AI isn't perfect
so mr programmer is still doing work; but doing so more efficiently with the help of generative intelligence- if mr programmer just copied and pasted mr robot's generation, that would be wrong (and very obviously AI, even in coding)
because that would be mr programmer not only risking the development of what he's working on, and also plagiarizing many people's (generative AI comes from user-collected data) as well as not making use of his skills
or if mr boss man (mr programmer's boss) decided to get rid of mr. programmer completely and use AI, that would also be morally incorrect as well as being an irresponsible and inappropriate application of AI, as it's meant to be used WITH people.
so basically AI is supposed to increase efficiency and prevent human error, and humans are supposed to use AI's more efficient work alongside their own, while checking for technological errors

that's lazy companies trying to adapt a segment of security into something all-encompassing

in reality, (NIST guidelines corroborate this), it's better to use a long(ish) password that you can remember, and use the same one -- or variations of the same one-- long term

but use it in conjunction with other layers of security

like biometrics, 2-step verification, authenticators, etc.

my password has just developed over the years 😭 i had a like 8 digit password that i used for flash games when i was maybe 7 and just over time it's developed to 16-18 digits
