@tacit ocean First things you might want to look into is a touch device (even stuff not marketed as being for art like iPads can work just fine if you have one already, but there's also decently cheap pen tablets that work like extra hardware you connect to a PC), and also software. You can do digital art without a touch device, but for most varieties it's a lot harder and more time-intensive. There's thankfully a good amount of free software available now to help so you don't have to shell out for one of the big-investment tools — Glimpse, Paint.NET, Krita, etc. are all free and should come with most things you need.
