Hey everyone. I’m still feeling awful even typing this.

While transferring data between our old Switch and the new one today, I messed up and accidentally deleted my wife’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons save. Over 400 hours just gone. Years of work, events, collections… all of it wiped in one mistake.

She’s completely heartbroken. That island meant a lot to her, and we were both really excited to jump back in with the new update. After a lot of back and forth, she’s decided to start over. I just want to do whatever I can to make it easier for her.

So I figured I’d ask here:

Any restart/speed-run tips for a new island? Stuff that helps unlock things faster or makes the early game less painful.

And if anyone is willing to help with starter items—bells, tools, DIYs, fruit, crops, anything at all—we’d be incredibly grateful. Even small stuff would help a lot.

This community has always been super kind, which is why I felt okay posting this. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any help or advice. It really means a lot.

Well the fun fact is you can do pretty much everything on your own, you've just got to set your mind to it

so far i only cleaned the area my villagers live in

I mean yeah its a little bit tougher to arrange furniture outdoors, but for getting recipes and stuff, just check your beach and the capn island beach once a day, shoot down green balloons, talk to villagers, before you know it you'll have almost everything

What website? The switch 2 SD card runs at a faster speed which isn’t compatible with the regular switch. That’s why there are different SD cards for each switch.

It should work. Wouldn't see the "speed" from the upgraded chip, though. That's my guess. But I haven't even used it enough on my NS2 to see any difference in load times.

So if you are ever trying to trade one console in, you'd need to do the trade in afterwards or do the transfer there in the store

Yeah, you could do similar things with SD cards as it is. The capabilities are all there, but turning settings on and off relies on the software within.

Its not an sd card though, it is a type of storage, but like its not literally an sd card, likely, if I had to guess, the kind of storage tech they used is hard to write to, and therefore much cheaper to manufacture
