Im not gonna dump a huge thinkpiece or anything but if nintendo starts using AI to make games im never supporting them again. If you want better villager dialogue hire more writers. If you want cooler textures hire more artists. Im not paying $90 for a game with no artists on the team to actually receive that money. I think for me i use time skip and tis because im 26 in full time studies living under the poverty line, so i cant put as much daily time into the game as other people, and therefore get less out of it without a few "cheats". I think its perfectly valid to play however you are able to have fun. Forcing yourself to play in a way that you cant enjoy for the sake of being "ethical" just sabotages your own time and effort, and the dlc and harvs island and all that really made it more viable to get items anyway so the economy isnt as broken as it was in 2020

Like yeah some people still super overcharge for stuff but there's ways to get that stuff on your own now, and time skip makes a lot of that even easier

if its helpful, for a few people who had it happen several times, only closing the game when it says its safe to close post-save seemed to prevent it from happening in the future. they had been previously letting it go to the title screen and then closing the game down

as someone who has had other switch games corrupt, id say check and make sure you have the right kind of microSD card if you're using one, because switches are notoriously picky about that

i think they are but it depends on the context. the context of this is that the microtransactions were never needed to enjoy the game

microtransactions are always predatory but they are far more predatory when required to complete or enjoy the game, and i think there is a reasonable argument that a $20 price tag for a previously-free game is also predatory. it is definitely better though!

I’d much rather pay a base price to a game than have micro transactions because the amount of items weighing out + how long they’re available to the way we can get leaf tickets / how many it definitely pushes micro transactions

But it’s also annoying that people who have paid money for the plans/leaf tickets now also have to pay for a base price and all of the stuff paid for is kinda void
