Acnh is slightly like minecraft in the sense of gathering, storing, etc, but nothing despawns, if you however have turnips and fast forward, you’ll be met with a sad shock, of them rotting and becoming unsellable. On top of that if you keep them dropped too long (i think a couple days? please correct me if i’m wrong) they will rot too.

i don’t think this goes for any other food item or anything of that nature, but it does for turnips, as when you unlock timmy and tommy’s shop, you’ll get the option to sell turnips (when it’s fully upgraded i think.) So they are a massive money making method that acnh has just..made impossible to cheat unless you go to treasure islands.
