Ok so tip. Once you get enough book miles, if you can, but the wetsuit and go and empty your inventory. Then put on the suit, swim and catch sea creatures. Then either if you don’t have the sea creature, talk to blathers and if you do, sell it. It’s a good tip for when you have nooks cranny as a store. You’ll make bank.

When your villager is in boxes moving out, another player can visit your island and speak to them to invite them

The general moveout timeline is

• Day 1: Villager asks to move out and you agree
• Day 2: Villager is in boxes moving out (another player can come to your island to adopt the villager on this day)
• Day 3: the villager is completely moved out — house is gone and plot is empty (this is the day you can invite a new villager)

Yeah, it's not guaranteed to do. You'll have to be patient and just hope you get enough of a gap in time to make one want to leave.

I usually just don't talk to a particular villager and wait for them to have the thought bubble cloud and then talk to them in hopes of them asking to leave.

if it's a villager you're close with I think it can increase their chance of asking to leave. At least on my island, the ones I'm closest with always ask

When you see a thought bubble above a villager you don't want to leave, ignore it. If you answer and say no, then you have to wait a few days until it appears again on another villager

But if you ignore it'll go to a different villager sooner, sometimes even during the same day

I'm pretty sure that is a known phenomenon. The idea that we text or e-mail so often has replaced the norm of calling. So it isn't just you and sometimes it happens to be. But as I got older and needed to interact with more people in the moment, that concern has significantly alleviated itself.
