you can craft medicine using weeds and the beehive that fell out of the tree. it's not actually required, though, it just fixes your "injured" appearance, and keeps you from getting sent back to your tent if you get stung again

Something I did notice is, when I went to the eshop on my account it says I don’t have it. but the splatoon dlc for example, even though it was bought on my brothers account, says I have it (and I’ve played it) so maybe I should try to buy the dlc through my account, and we can try to ask Nintendo for a refund for the other one?

ahh yeah, if the house icon isn’t there, that means it wasn’t successfully downloaded onto your switch. if your account is linked with your dad’s, afaik it should say “redownload” when you search for it in the eshop?

either way, i would maybe try downloading it again however you did the first time, or just buy it from your account.

(couple things from personal experience - avoid downloading the same dlc onto two different switches, you wont be able to play online simultaneously if you do. and there is a rollover for the cut scene, so you may need to time travel +1 day again)

Is there a way to not transfer your island to a new switch but transfer all other games datas from a user account? We want to transfer a family member's account's data to their new switch (they are the primary owner/resident services person and they'll still have their account on the old switch as well as the new one) but we don't want the island to go to their new switch (they want to make a new island on that switch anyway and we dont won't to make our accounts on the new one/lose our homes and such). If they do a regular system transfer will it delete the island off the old switch in the process? Also does having switch online effect what happens to the island?

I'm pretty sure if you want to keep all your other characters/player's profiles they all have to have their accounts logged into the new switch. I've heard that if the accounts aren't on the new switch it deletes any players that don't have their account on the new console. As for how to go about transfering them all I'm not sure, I've been having trouble with finding good transfer guides as well. I know there's a transfer tool you'll have to download for transfers as well. That's about as much as I know.

It's also confusing because I've read things saying to transfer the island first before transfering other game datas but I'm unsure how you'd even go about that because you can't transfer data if your account is already on the new switch but I'm not sure if your island will just be deleted if you do the transfer second. The whole system transfer thing is a headache, I miss when it was easy like with the 3ds.

you can do a system transfer just fine, i did it with mine. if you don’t download / use the island transfer tool that’s separate in the eshop, the old island will stay where it is. if everyone using the old switch continues to use the same nintendo account / nso, you will not be able to play online simultaneously as the person on the other switch.

i did a full system transfer + island transfer onto a new switch, and then the game restarted as per normal on the old one, so i’m the resident services person on both islands. i’m also using the same nintendo account and NSO on both switches with no issue, just can’t play online at the same time. i have two separate physical copies of the game, but you guys should be fine to share the same copy. as danc said, the save data is on the console, not the game card!

i don’t think you need to have an active NSO to transfer it, no. the NSO only permits you to play online, but you can otherwise play the entire game without it - i’m sure she’ll be fine to do the full transfer without it. you just need the nintendo account to download the transfer tool.
