Should I restart my island?
When restarting, you will lose all of your DIYs and catalog. The start of the game is very tedious and people tend to forget this when resetting.
It is easier to remove everything and flatten your island.
Restart only if you don't like the position of your RS, airport, river ends, northern beach, etc.

Not really :( The game also moves in villagers who are moving from your friends’ islands so if you have friends with good villagers who are moving out, there is a chance you will get them. It’s how I got Molly. (Plus what Blink says, time travel helps too)

Because I've spent 100+ NMTs and I've seen at least 2 villagers keep appearing for 25% of those trips... and other villagers RARELY or don't even appear at all like the eagles, cats, and dogs.

The game was purchased under my account. I dont know what'll happen if I buy a new switch, if my old account will get logged out on the first Switch.
If she buys a copy of the game under her account, what happens? Can she even do that while my user is logged in? I was wondering if she'd need to go into the game as me, use the options menu at the beginning to remove my user, then use the Island Transfer Tool to transfer the data to a memory card or something, then log my user out of the switch, and then buy Animal Crossing, and then pop the memory card back in and reload the island

the island save data is tied to your physical switch so if you want to keep your island on your new switch, you'd need to use the island transfer system. your ex gf can wipe the save data to begin a new game/island; if she doesn't and assuming she creates a new nintendo/switch user account, the game will register her as a new player and prompt the intro missions etc. she'll basically be a 2nd player on your old island. i'm not sure if you can fully remove the first/initial player tho

My nooks cranny is still the small wooden shop version, how do i upgrade it? I know i have to spend more than 200k bells but is it 200k bells only at nooks or anywhere on the island?

Only at Nook's Cranny. Also, the shop can only upgrade after it has been open for at least 30 days

I read online that I have to invite several times over several days. Am I at risk for my plot to autofill when I do this? Any help would be appreciated!

You need to scan and complete their quest 3 times. Autofill g wouldn't matter because amiibos can kick anyone you talked to if they are moved in properly

The plot will likely auto-fill in the following days... But if you have 10 villagers on your island, amiibo campers will give you the choice to replace someone

• Can I choose who the Amiibo villager kicks out?
Yes, just make sure you've spoken to that villager at least once and their house isn't currently being relocated.

Some DIYs can't be brought from one island to another but you can fly there and learn the DIY there and then go home and make the item yourself.

Here's my experience using this
Save
Jump one month (save to skip bedhair)
Go one day forward at a time (no need to save)
If I don't see bubbles after 14 days like this I start over. Be sure to be around 1pm
Best of luck sometimes it's a bit of a pain

You could always visit other players, though the method on how to do it changed a bit. You could sell via your home gyroid in the first one for example.
So while it was not always like this, trading, especially for fruits and such, always existed
