You could just be able to go up to it and press towards it (whether that's up or down depending on where your chara is placed) gently with the left joycon. You don't need to press any other buttons to get on it. Someone else might have better instructions/suggestions

I think you want to be on the side with more space, not squished up against the wall (the side where you are towards the end of the video) but I can't offer a reason for why it's not cooperating with you ☹️

There is a hidden mechanic called a move in queue and sometimes it can be "empty" where no one is lined up to take the plot - so in this instance, it is rare, but can take a few days to fill a plot

I clicked to enable a feature that im pretty it like, takes all my cloud data and lets me keep my save data on my new switch and keep my account on the other one. I wanted to play local play with my mom and got this. Does anyone know what it is? Im pretty sure it’s saying i cant play with a switch that has my account on it, so if that is what it is, can someone please tell me how to get rid of my account off my old switch without deleting save data on my new one?

It will probably be a combination of your accounts on two switches and, if you have downloaded the game rather than both have a cartridge, that you can’t visit each other. Pretty sure you either need to repurchase it by setting up a new account or buying a cartridge for one of you

You can’t do roommates for non-villagers sadly (I’ve tried to get blathers and celeste together). The only times you can get multiple non-villager NPCs is with any able sister card (scanning one invites all 3), Timmy and Tommy are always together too, and Daisy Mae is always with Joan I believe (there may be more combos though)

I understand I should go with a theme (I picked living room and living room/retro items) and try to sort them in a unique color (brown in my case, orange if it comes with two colors), I also completed my first whole set, the vintage one, with no duplicate of any of it's pieces.
is there anything I'm missing?

Also, regarding "colors", my retro stereo is called black when I go customize it at Cyrus, but on Nookipedia, they say the Black version's colors are actually brown and beige, whereas the "brown" version one is made of orange and black.... so it's very confusing if I want to go with a unique brown theme color... If I want actually it to have brown keyword and the HHA points, it mean I must go for "black" version, right? 🤔

A good rule of thumb is generally this picture. It takes a fair bit of practice. If you don't make it correctly (you'll know you're right if you get the "YOU DID IT" vs 'Almost'), then force-close the game by returning to the home screen of the Switch with the game selections and clicking X to close the game before the dialogue finishes (because it'll autosave). You can then reopen the game, find where the snowballs have spawned, and try and try again.

It's easy to return to the current date/time on the Switch for AC but DDV doesn't have that same functionality at present (and this is an AC discord so I can't really help you with DDV). There might be some guides for suggesting how to approach DDV time travel or fixes, otherwise until Gameloft deal with the fact people jump around on the Switch then you might have to stay progressing with a future date on AC too

If you talk to him about "island backup" and enable it the game will automatically upload your save file to the cloud every so often, usually it's like some time after you saved and closed the game, once per day

Once it's enabled the date of the last save will be listed in a corner of the game's main screen

You can cloud save other games but ACNH is weird. If your switch breaks, you will have to contact nintendo and they will manually restore the island from the last backup

It is technically cloud saved but you can't access it in the same way as other games (or transfer from the SD card) - nintendo needs to do it and will only restore it in the case of a broken or stolen switch

I personally won't though because I'm really invested in playing this island without time travel, trading, or visiting islands that have been time travelled! I've basically played it without Nintendo Switch Online except for visiting my family members. The reason being that I burnt myself out by optimizing my gameplay in the past so I want the game to be more challenging this time around.

Also it seems for shooting star island I needed to have visited on June 15th? The Nookipedia doesn't say a range for that one and instead says that specific date. Does that mean people who played mostly daily but missed that one date can't get shooting star like ever until they play on the one date for their hemisphere?

so if I understand the process correctly. use amiibo cards to put my characters in boxes. find a friend who is willing to take that villager, with an empty plot on their island. they take the villager. I move on, continue this process until all the ones I want to save are off my island. I restart the island, I get through the opening bit and get the first six predetermined villagers. I then begin to boot them and as I have open plots, my friend can force them into boxes with amiibo cards, and then I can come pick them up?

That's just unfortunate luck! You should be able to get carrots from Leif or a Kapp'n island, but if you have NSO you could trade for them too!
