Oh yeah, and try not to chop down your trees when you first start.

You don't have to clear out all the weeds, unlike the rest of the series, weeds don't degrade your rating until you have over 100

Weeds help boost your score but dont defect it if you have them. If you only have one bridge and cant get another, you could clear all weeds and get the development points instead of the bridge if that makes sense.

I just figured out that a great way to determine your weather seed with Meteonook is by noting the minutes that shooting stars appear in a light shower, once you do that only a bit more data is needed

I got it from 4 star times tonight plus noting that there were shooting stars yesterday and Wednesday, which narrowed it down to a few, then I dug into my screenshots and was able to nail down the weather pattern for one rainy day way back last year, and that did it

So if anyone out there's trying to use Meteonook to get their seed, light meteor showers help a lot

Nope terraforming cannot be enabled when gates are open, let alone allowing someone else to enable it on your island

The day after you get Kk you unlock the app in your phone. Then you open that app to activate terraforming. There are 8 path options (including a custom design path) and also water and cliff tools. You need to buy all the features except the light dirt path with nook miles in the resident services terminal though.

I’m not sure if anyone could help me with this since it’s really specific, but

I was using MeteoNook and was putting the times for the weathers for September 9th

Everything was going fine, the weather type for that day was fine01

But for some reason at 3AM, everything changes

All of a sudden Celeste is there and so is CJ when they were never there throughout the whole night, and an npc I had on my island that day was Label

The weather at that hour was also at “sunny” meaning there are only a few clouds

Which made the weather type for that day not fine01

I can’t seem to find how to fix this issue cause it seems like no matter what I did, nothing changed

Every other day for me was fine except for this one at that specific time

And also the fact that there are no shooting stars at all throughout the night, but at 3AM it’s a meteor shower and it’s ONLY at 3AM

And a message bottle shows up at this time as well

It’s like it’s treating that hour like it’s a new day

I thought it was an issue with time travel too but it wasn’t, cause I’ve never had this issue, it’s ONLY on that day

but it is still lots of fun accompanying your friend as they do the turkey day tasks and pretending that youre participating, i actually did that with my friend in her island and even appeared in all the cutscenes with franklin

What I've Found for getting your weather seed the easiest on Meteonook is to find a day where you have a Light Shower. Dont Even worry about putting in the sky. Just do the Minutes that the stars show up. It will take a few hours but it is worth it.

Stepping on the roaches is the only way. You may need to move furniture back and forth to scare them all out of hiding; usually there is a lot hiding "under" furniture. They will come out when you push and pull it around.

There are 3 stages of villager homes:

• Fully moved in
• "In Boxes", refers to the day before or the day after somebody moves out or in. The day that they stay in their homes and they're either packing up or unpacking.
• Empty plot

When you have a villager "In Boxes" on the way out, somebody else with an empty plot can come talk to them and have them move in to an empty plot of theirs. The next day after being in boxes moving out, regardless of if somebody comes or not, that plot will be empty. At that point you can go to somebody else's island, to a villager "in boxes", to move in.

So TLDR, Step #1 for you would be getting one of your villagers to move out. You may want to refer to this:

Ignoring villagers doesn't work to move them out. It is RNG, but if you don't talk to them ever even once, they will never ask to leave. There are hidden rules between moving villagers out. Hitting them and not talking to them does not affect this, information confirming that it does is anecdotal, and likely coincidental.

.t moveout @loud plover Here is a guide to assist moving them out - again, neglect does not affect this, it is in game statistics and numbers. You must have interacted at least once for them to ask, and as correctly stated, it can't be the latest to move in.

I was wondering if someone was able to confirm if each villager leaves the same item or if it’s just randomly selected from their house? Unfortunately not. Resident services and the airport are the two things that are immutable on the island. Luckily, if you can call it a silver lining, she's early enough in her game and she can move her stuff to your Island that's starting over isn't the end of the world

So when you get to the part of the initial creation of the game where you pick the map of the island, that's really where its the final chance to change any of that

Including where the river mouths are by the way. Take it from me, somebody who is stuck with two south facing rivermouths who wants to change but can't 😉

BEAUTIFUL ISLAND ORDINANCE
No cockroaches will appear, no trash will get fished up, weeds grow less often, and villagers will water flowers more often.
EARLY BIRD ORDINANCE
Your villagers will wake up about an hour or so earlier, and shops will also open an hour earlier. (They’ll still close at the usual time.)
NIGHT OWL ORDINANCE
Your residents will go to bed anywhere from 1-2 hours later, and shops will close an hour later. (They’ll still open at the usual time.)
BELL BOOM ORDINANCE
The cost of goods goes up, but so does the amount of money you make from selling items.

Start up has you getting your 6 of your native fruit and 10 branches. Then you go to sleep, get to real time and then you talk to your villagers and buy stuff from Timmy and on day 3-4 when you start up Tom Nook will get a call and you will want to talk to him about that call. That's how you get 3 new plots of land for 3 new villagers.

Your storage will increase when you upgrade your house by paying your loans, in the meantime you can just drop or place stuff outside from your inventory screen. But beware if you have other players visiting you or living on your island, because they are able to pick up dropped items that are outside

Gulliverr or Gullivarr. Yes, if you do his tasks next day in your mailbox you will get certain items you can't get any other way.

If he wears blue then it’s Gulliver and if he wears red its Gullivarr. Once you wake them up, they will ask you to assist them in contacting their ship. Gulliver will ask you to dig through the sand like you would if you were digging up Manila clams to look for 5 communicator parts to return to him and Gullivarr asks you to go diving for his full communicator the same way you would when finding sea creatures. After you’ve completed the task they will send you a special item!

My island was 5 stars when I was making my rock garden, after I removed the designs I used to keep rocks from spawning. After adding to my res services area and decorating some more in other parts, it's dropped to 4 stars even though I didn't remove things, only moved them to other places. I've added a bunch too. What might be docking my island's development points? I even removed a bunch of weeds.

Isabelle mentions a lack of scenery/decorations and does not mention excess trees, weeds, or anything along those lines

The amount of decorations isn't the only factor, they also need to be spread out evenly to get the highest rating. Now that you moved some items, the game likely thinks that one area has too few decorations and changed you back to 4-stars

Well, afaik it doesn't check based on areas that lack decorations, but it does dock a tiny amount for clusters of over 8 identical objects in one area. However the stuff I added is different and spread out.

There's a video on youtube that shows how an island can change from 5 to 4 stars by just moving one item 0,5 tile closer or further from another item. Island rating is capricious, I gave you my advice as helper as to why your game is dissatisfied with your new layout based on the line Isabelle says that you posted, you're free to take or leave it

Still isn't making sense though. I had a bunch of hidden cliff items, 5 stars. My crafting stations used to be 4 stone stools with materials placed on them by a simple DIY bench, and I swapped that for a wooden storage shed and repurposed the stools as backstops in my rock garden.

Did that, added a few more hidden items, then as part of my island renovations, added decorations here and there, all over.

hhp will work for everyone on the switch that is set to primary for the account that owns it, and only for that account on any secondary switches (iirc)

This is getting infuriating. Over my break, I removed several hidden items and that didn't restore my rating. I then started putting some of the campfires on the beach since beach campfires are a thing and that still didn't restore it even after placing most of them.

I had 5 stars with fewer placed items and I removed a bunch of duplicates...

Your acnh save data is tied to the previous switch's hard drive, if you got your account back through your Nintendo account, that won't bring your save back

Do you know a lot about island rating and how furniture affects it? My island was finally at 5 stars yesterday but after some renovations and additions it dropped to 4, with Isabelle saying to decorate more.

What may have happened is that your points might have dropped when you renovated, possibly after tidying things up. Try adding more furniture to the area and you'll get your rating back

Anyway, to continue this, the rating stayed even when I moved all the campfires to the back cliffs, out of sight.

Then, last night, I picked all my crops, moved some stone stools that were for my crafting stations, put wooden storage sheds by each simple workbench but kept one stool by each, then I added stuff all around my island.

Then it dropped to 4.

It'd have to be a pretty hefty penalty, I added a few wild log benches and log stools to my forested area, a brick well, a fountain, a silo, and a couple more things here and there, and she still says to add things

I also swapped my sugarcane plot and a few trees' positions so there's not a random plot of that by my museum and then fenced in the sugarcane
