just a question, if I start a new game do my save files get deleted?

Save files made manually are not deleted, the automatic saves are overridden when a new automatic save is made
If I recall correctly, if you change the Steam account that you start the game with, then the saves may disappear, as they are synced with Steam cloud (you can manually disable the sync)
