Im coming from a Model O wired, had for 3.5 years but it keeps disconnecting itself so need a new one. I can't fully say how I like the mouse as I've never really had any others but it's been absolutely fine to say the least, but dont want to re-order it due to their crappy support. But also how the mouse only lasted just over a year past RMA

Budget: £80
Hand size: medium/large - my palms rests on the back of the mouse fine and my fingers are kind of clawed, but it's not uncomfortable at all.
Grip type: Relaxed claw/ Palm claw
Region I'm buying from is the UK

Mouse will be used for casual gaming, like cod, fortnite - not comp, and general stuff for me like music production and just browsing.

I received the g502 wireless today but decided for a return after about an hour as it just feels awful, the extra buttons aren't really needed for me (I just like the 2 you get on the side) - the 2 side buttons on the g502 were a bit far back compared to the model o making it uncomfy, but also it just felt sluggish to use, like I'd never used a mouse before 😂

If I've missed anything I'll try to answer it.

Thanks in advance

The viper 2 pro (PUBG edition) is £23 cheaper than the default, but was told to avoid it as "it'd break in 2 months" and apparently has issues causing it to double click & other issues

#

My v2 pro is fine after 4+ years, pubg edition might have defects

#

There are a multitude of clones that id recommend, but first have you considered a v3 pro?

cunning skiff
#

scyrox v8 is pretty good

thick quarry
#

I went with the shark attack v6

cunning skiff
#

isnt quality bad tho

thick quarry
#

Not sure, a few people in LTT said they have it and love it

#

But yeah upon looking at reddit people seem to have bad experiences

#

Looks like Ill cancel it then 😂

#

No clue what to go for then

odd bluff
thick quarry
#

Just locked out of amazon Idk why

#

But still need to find a mouse to get, 3rd one Ive ordered now that Ive cancelled

odd bluff
thick quarry
#

ah..

#

Explains alot then

#

Cos I ordered g502, returned it, ordered the pubg editon of viper v2 pro but cancelled it, and ordered atk shark v6 but need to cancel

odd bluff
#

Also do you mind if the mouse is wired ?

thick quarry
#

Im using a model o wired currently which doesnt really bother me but occasionally the wire gets in the way

odd bluff
#

G502 is one of the worst mice to mouse

thick quarry
#

But it's not a dealbreaker to be wired

thick quarry
#

It feels absolutely awful

odd bluff
#

Ok haste 2 wired comes to mind

thick quarry
#

Wireless would be a plus, although bit more expensive

#

Just so there's no wire to possibly get in the way

odd bluff
#

True but the haste 2 wired is a budget kind in the used market

thick quarry
#

But Ive not really had a moment with my mouse where Ive been like "I need to get wireless"

odd bluff
#

3395, 8k polling, sub 55g. I got it used for 13usd

#

Avg is 30 for the haste

thick quarry
#

Its about £43 on amazon

odd bluff
#

For new with warranty thats not horrible

#

Is there a dif shape you wana try or just stick to the center hump

thick quarry
#

Not sure what other shapes there are that I could potentially benefit from

#

My palm doesnt really touch the hump on my model o

odd bluff
#

What is ur hand size ?

#

I hate this phones keyboard so much

thick quarry
#

Medium / large, I could try measure it

#

But I threw a picture into AI and asked what it thinks cos I was lazy and it said medium-large

odd bluff
#

First crease in the wrist to the tip of the finger

thick quarry
#

Like extend my fingers back?

odd bluff
#

Straight arrow hand

#

Straight wrist too

thick quarry
#

about 7" length and 4" width

#

Assuming I did it right

odd bluff
#

Cm please

thick quarry
#

17.8cm length 10.16 width

#

so just round to 18 & 10 Ig

odd bluff
#

Wide short ish same as mine pretty much

thick quarry
#

I can re-measure

#

But sure I did it right

odd bluff
#

It sounds right

#

Look up the op18k and see if you would like it as a oddball shape

naive ember
#

just grab a superlight. ur not just paying 150 for a mouse,

#

if ur mouse has defects in the future they will send you a replacement for free

#

ive gotten 2 replacements for free over a couple years

#

so think of that 150 price as an investment into a good mouse that will last you multiple years

cunning skiff
#

i'd say just get the op1

#

or you can listen to the guy above and get the superlight with warranty which is also a pretty good choice

thick quarry
#

So cant cancel that v6, gonna end up having to physically return it

thick quarry
#

Only 79.99 on amazon

#

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT

cunning skiff
#

make sure to get warranty

#

tho

#

they tend to have double click issues and stuff

thick quarry
#

Are they more lenient with support when it's out of it's 2y timeframe, or would they just say "you're out of warranty, sorry"

#

Cos if it's known for issues I kinda wanna stay away unles I KNOW Im backed up by good support even out of the RMA

#

Also since you said make sure to get warranty, does it not already come with it when it's done through amazon?

cunning skiff
#

does it?

#

if it does come with it your good

thick quarry
#

I always thought warranty was just included

#

Im gonna contact their support anyway to ask about it

thick quarry
#

So basically they just said, if it's within the 2y warranty and is a known fault theyll replace, outside of the warranty is basically a no.

#

Are there any other options that would have more longevity and also still have good support?

thick quarry
#

But amazon are taking the piss in fixing the account being marked as flagged, they said 4-6 hours, then 24hrs now another 24-48hrs

thick quarry
#

But it depends o could biy a £150 mouse and if it lasts 3 years I'd have been better off rebuking the model o cost wise, as it'd be 3x cheaper for same lifespan

#

I just don't want to pay more for a mouse if it just won't last longer than what I've been using

#

If that makes sense?

cunning skiff
#

fair

thick quarry
#

I feel picky af but at the same time I don't need a crazy spec, I don't think anyway

#

So I don't see the need to go for somsrbing like the Razer Viper v3 pro

cunning skiff
#

viper v3 pro overpriced

#

u can only buy off amazon? right?

thick quarry
#

But I also don't want to cheap out on something that's gonna feel like shit and die in 3yrs

#

Not necessarily but I jave store credit there so it technically works out cheaper if i do

#

But it's not a must

#

As its a shared account so I can just get my bro to use it and send me the money

cunning skiff
#

buy it from their website

#

they are rlly good

#

decently priced and will last a long time

#

and they're only 69.99 usd (61 euros)

thick quarry
#

Im GBP

cunning skiff
#

ohh

thick quarry
#

Is it only an international site

cunning skiff
#

yea

#

or u could buy it off

#

ali express

thick quarry
#

Prefer to avoid aliexpress

cunning skiff
#

yea

#

the scyrox mouse would be 51.68 Pounds sterling

thick quarry
#

Also seems a bit small right

cunning skiff
#

oh wait i forgot

#

theres also gonna be some tax

#

and stuff

thick quarry
#

Preferably something I could get within afew days

cunning skiff
#

whats your hand measurement

thick quarry
#

The width seems long compared to what Im seeing others say

#

I did from like my thumb knuckle to the opposite side

#

Palm side ofc

cunning skiff
#

I have about the same hand size around 19 x 10

#

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

#

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

thick quarry
#

But yeah regarding the value thing I mentioned, the model O was £55 in october 2021

#

So lasted about just over 3 years without being faulty

#

So workes out like £15 per year

#

But if I got the superlight for example, and it lasted even 4 years, that still costs more per year

cunning skiff
#

your right

thick quarry
#

But I don't know what the normal lifespan of a mouse is, I didn't realise it would be like 3 years, I would've thought 5 or so 😂

cunning skiff
#

3+ years or something depends if you treat it good

thick quarry
#

But again, I don't want something just because it's necessarily cheaper, but I want a good balance

#

Cos as I've said, the Model O wasn't really bad, although I think Id prefer no honecomb just so it's a bit easier to clean. Especially with pets lmfao

cunning skiff
#

ye

thick quarry
#

Weight wise, it's not bad. The g502 wireless was absolutely awful as I said earlier in the thread

cunning skiff
#

sooo'

#

i tried my brothers g502

#

it felt so heavy and slow

thick quarry
cunning skiff
#

I actually wanted to burn it

thick quarry
#

Yeah it's garbage...

#

People were shitting on my model o and saying the g502 is great, which I dont really care about the model o but compared to the g502 it felt heavenly

cunning skiff
#

wait give me one moment'

thick quarry
#

Using the g502 felt like I was a baby learning to walk

cunning skiff
#

g502 is not all that

thick quarry
#

Yeah I dont see the hype, it looks cool but that's it lol

#

As I've already said as well, wireless isn't a need but could be convenient in some cases as my wire has got in the way occasionally.

cunning skiff
#

ye

thick quarry
#

But would happily get either

cunning skiff
#

if you could buy on anything

#

the mad r major

#

or scyrox v8 or v6

#

woulda been so good

#

for you

#

just buy the op1

thick quarry
cunning skiff

yes

#

get the 8k one

#

and any colour which you like

thick quarry
#

Yeah probably just black

#

Whats the warranty on this one? And typical lifespan

cunning skiff
#

lifespan changes all throughout ngl

#

depends on how you take care of it

#

really

thick quarry
#

In what way? Like if you beat the shit out of it lmao

cunning skiff
#

yea

thick quarry
#

😂 😭

cunning skiff
#

my old deathadder

#

was cooked

thick quarry
#

Not really an issue, I used to rage a long time ago but grew out of it

cunning skiff
#

oh yea you shouldn't worry then

thick quarry
#

Used to have flying keycaps

#

Didnt know that shit was possible

#

Especially on my apex keyboard

#

Cos the keycaps are quite hard

#

Speaking of, I was thinking of a new keyboard but not sure it's necessary. I have an apex 3 currently, full sized one

#

But not sure if it would even benefit me to get one

cunning skiff
#

does it have something wrong?

#

with it

#

i'd just keep it

thick quarry
#

Yeah it's fine

#

Although

#

I hate trying to hide my headphone wire

#

I have the sennheiser HD600s

#

But there's like no way to make it so it's not in the way

cunning skiff
#

wait how does it get in your way?

thick quarry
#

The wire just dangles on me, or tugs on the keyboard when I move sometimes

#

So it goes beside the left of the keyboard, then between the bottom of the keyboard and the wrist wrest

#

Although, the legs on my keyboard are gone

#

Which was annoying but Ive gotten used to it over 2yrs

cunning skiff
#

im not sure what i'd do if I were you lol

thick quarry
#

I can live with it, just when it happens it's annoying

#

But like with the mouse wire

#

But can't really do a whole lot bout the headphones wires

cunning skiff
#

yea

thick quarry
#

Although Im not sure if using production headphones for games is ideal

cunning skiff
#

well they're not meant for gaming

#

they can still be used

#

tho

thick quarry
#

Yeah, Ive not really complained about them but I dont think Icare enough to get that extra immersion with gaming headphones

#

also just annoying to switch between 2

cunning skiff
#

yea

#

just keep ur head set

#

and for your keyboard if you dont really like it just try and find a 60%

thick quarry
#

I need it anyway for music

cunning skiff
#

mechanical one

thick quarry
#

Keyboard wise, it's not necessary but I did fancy an upgrade.

#

But more of a want than a need

cunning skiff
#

which one

#

are u thinking of?

thick quarry
#

Haven't really looked into it tbf

cunning skiff
#

oh

#

60% all the way

#

bro

#

anyways i gtg

thick quarry
#

All good, I may make a post elsewhere if there's a server like this but for discords

cunning skiff
#

alr

thick quarry
#

Appreciate your help though think Ill lock in the op18k and lyk how it goes, but no clue when Ill get it ordered

cunning skiff
#

alr

thick quarry
#

Amazon said 1-2 days and delivery is 3

#

So probably a week

cunning skiff
#

also scyrox is goated bro 🐐

#

I love them

thick quarry
#

I really need to get a new one tho this mouse is so fucked

#

It's both buttons now that break

#

When it disconnects itself, it acts like im still holding down MB1/2

odd bluff
thick quarry
#

Finally got the amazon account fixed yesterday, mouse arrives tomorrow. Is there any software I need to setup or is it just plug and play?

thick quarry
thick quarry
#

Got the mouse now

#

Feels decent, very minimalistic design though, only thing I can notice is the scroll wheel being a bit tighter

odd bluff
#

For me it wore in

thick quarry
#

Yeah, it's not that bad in-game tbh

#

Although I still need to get used to the side button placement as it's still different to the model O. But not as bad as the g502 was

thick quarry
#

Haven't played many games with the mouse yet as fortnite runs like ass all of a sudden, when I try to move or whatever my frames just half or even less so it feels like im playing on a ps2. But overall the mouse feels fine

thick quarry
#

But my temps were fine, double checked ram speeds that's all good

odd bluff
#

Do you have the software

thick quarry
#

I don't

#

Couldn't find it

odd bluff
#

Nothing to do with ram

thick quarry
#

The issue wasn't commented on about the mouse

#

I was just saying I've not really got a chance to properly game using it as my fortnite was being shit

odd bluff
#

Sent a inv to egg server where you can get the soft/firmware

odd bluff
thick quarry
odd bluff
thick quarry
odd bluff
#

Everyhing up to date?

thick quarry
#

I just downloaded it

odd bluff
#

Bet

#

So dpi up to you id rec 1600, try 2-4k polling and see if frames are fine, use spdt speed and take jitter off and slamclick only if needed

thick quarry
#

What's does spdt speed, jitter and slamclick do?

odd bluff
#

Spdt gives fastest click speed

#

Jitter is for super high dpi

thick quarry
#

Think Im on 1.6k dpi already as well

#

I used to be on 800 but felt sluggish on normal tasks

odd bluff
#

Slamclick helps not register clicks when you reset the mouse to 0 on the pad

thick quarry
odd bluff
#

Speed both

thick quarry
odd bluff
#

well id say keep it off unless you see the isue then turn it on

thick quarry
#

Alright, Ill give shitnite a go again with 4k polling

#

Didnt realise what polling rate was so I googled it, I thought it was just another word for dpi 😂

odd bluff
#

LMAO

#

nah it will mess with the cpu an cause frame skips / drops

thick quarry
#

Yeah makes sense after I googled it why that would be the issue. I put it to 4k so gonna try

#

Im using a 13600K so hopefully that's fine

odd bluff
#

i mainly use 4k and im on a ryzen 7 5800x but ill touch 8k for ow2 and other random games

thick quarry
#

I dont play ow2 often but if my mates on I do, so if 8k would be fine on there and it's worth using then I might have to switch between them if I remember

odd bluff
thick quarry
#

On 4k polling fn still like 90 on lows

#

Otherwise like 180

#

Which is awful

#

Not even gonna try to play it, I really don't know what the problem is but it runs like garbage now. Literally CONSTANT

#

Unplayable bad, not even just slightly lower fps than usual

#

Lowered polling to 2K so will see if it's any better if I touch shitnite again 😂
