Some avatar specifically only worked for the new versions of unity
Plus, I think it would be better for you to switch over to the new variant because loading in avatars is extremely faster now
On the 2019 version it would take 20 minutes or 30 minutes depending on the avatar to switch over between each version of PC and quest but it only takes 10 or 12 minutes on new version
Plus with the updated SDK is that VR chat Have you can add photos to your avatar way more easier
fair enough, but I got my avatar to work but I'll upgrade the unity once I get a new pc, or will the new unity not make my pc self destruct, just curious
I don’t exactly know the answer to your question since I don’t know how your PC actually runs, but depending on your PC and may work better or worse
For me, I’ve been using 2019 for quite a while and I had to end up switching over to the newest 2022 because avatar started switching over to that and once I switched over, it did feel like loading in things and making avatars was about 20 or 50 times faster than 2019
well for the 20-30 minutes is shortened to 10-20 when I turn all the avatars off
What do you mean by that?
What I mean by that is turn off all avatars?
hard to put in words
Sounds like to me that you put every single one of your avatars that you’re working on into one singular project. Am I wrong?
not wrong at all, but it does run faster when I have the avatars hidden, when I worked on my dragon ball avatars and swapped them from quest to pc and vise versa it took 10 minutes, sometimes longer or shorter time.
Interesting dragon ball avatars more than that later anyway
Yeah, I see your problem. The problem that you’re having is the reason why it’s so slow for you is because you’re putting all of your avatar projects in
one singular project. I used to do that back in the old days when I was creating avatars because it was convenient, but the more avatars and the more accessories that you add into your project, the more harder is going to be to load in especially if you have a not so good PC
I would maybe suggest splitting up your avatar project between different avatars for each and every one of your new ones
Because some of them may not end up working together in one project because all of the different animations may mess with each other
true but I do keep everything organized for each avatar, a folder for each avatar I work on, or at least each type
Well, that’s good as well. At least you know where everything is located.
Although it still up to you to decide what to do I’m just saying that the more avatars and accessories that you add onto your project the more it does get slower
But maybe here’s another idea. How about you? Maybe create several different projects and split up your avatars between all of the different projects so you may have three in each project
that is an idea but I usually dont go for multiple projects since it takes forever just to load one project
