I have attempted to replicate this issue but was unsuccessful on multiple devices.
Can you provide some information.

  • You mentioned this being an issue for years (First time seeing this report), can you clarify when you first encountered this issue?
  • If I recall correctly, you currently play on PlayStation 5 correct?
  • This issue based on your statement is resolved upon forcibly closing the app, how often does this issue re-appear after doing so?

-I first encountered this issue so long ago that Trent and Shirna were here, there was even an official statement saying this had been fixed before but it never properly was

-this has happened on both PlayStation 4 with SSD and PlayStation 5

-this issue is only resolved by force closing the app. In the past I experienced this issue, waited to see if it was just an extra long loading screen by going out for a cigarette, taking a shower, and then coming back to the load still stuck.

-this issue happens at least once a month, sometimes more frequently. I have never noticed a trend or pattern leading up to this issue. It happens randomly whenever a load screen is involved. This means character selections, server swapping, entering red battlefield.

-I just need to stress, every time this has happened, the game is not frozen, it is still running in the background. Animations are flowing, noises are audible, it’s just stuck loading

I’ve seen a few other posts from other users too, these are just mine

I sent in tickets on this issue too before I gave up on the ticket service. This should have been a well documented issue in PAs history from the reports. I know I’m not alone in reporting it.

In terms of character transfer, there was an issue which was fixed as you had articulated above.
After its fix there does not appear to be any other issues being reported, at-least to my knowledge.

I have definitely, absolutely reported them via tickets after the patch at that time. Back then I sent in a lot of tickets.

This has been happening virtually non stop from my point of view. I don’t have much evidence to support that though. I only found the other posts by searching the bug report section for “loading”.

Like the patch might’ve fixed it for like a month, maybe 3, if I remember correctly (years ago during Trent and Shirna days, it’s hard to remember exactly). But I’m fairly certain I had a moment when I said to myself “it did not get fixed”. I probably contacted Trent and/or Shirna then too.

I can confirm that this has been happening on my side for years too, it’s very random but you know when it happens because it will removed npcs and characters but stuff like water and bushes will continue to move and the screen doesn’t go away.

You could probably find it in the old channel for bug reports if you still have access to it, I’m pretty sure it was something that was reported a long time ago, around the time we were complaining about weapons being put away while we are cc’d in pve/pvp which still continues to be an issue

Yeah what you're explaining to me is similar to the report I believe was made regarding compass teleport.

  • Your character disappears
  • Map is largely unloaded
    This type of issue usually pertains to Client having difficulties connecting to Server which can be a number of reasons from NAT, Congestion, Client to Server connection, etc.
    When you have a moment, can you also send me a recording when it happens next. If I remember correctly you are playing from Australia on the NA server.

Personally I don’t get compassed enough to say if it’s the same thing, but I’d venture to say it is. I can imagine this issue acting up during those moments too

I will try and find one of my old clips but I haven’t been swapping between characters as much recently since I’m taking a break from bdo excluding weekly dungeons

Also happens to me regularly swapping servers/characters, not reliably regularly but every now and then, just enough to be slightly irritating

Sometimes it will get as far as the character disappearing, everything becoming unresponsive and frozen, but grass continues to sway in the game.
Only fix is to close the client and reload the game sadly, I'm playing from the UK on a high bandwidth fibre connection blobcatgooglytableflip
