Any obvious reasons for engine temps rising sharply on a hill climb?

2008 SG EJ204 NA 5MT 188k miles

Have an unrelated P0037 air sensor code currently

Engine temps come back down on the downhill, and can’t get engine temps to rise on the flat.

I replaced the radiator over a year ago, and the coolant has some leak fixer in it that failed to fix the previous radiator

Cheers chaps

My SG had this exact issue and it took me an age to get to the bottom of. Someone had, much like you, used stop-leak in the past. This blocks up things in the radiator, engine block and heater core.

replace thermo for good measure, since they're prone to failing in a way they only half open
