I've cleaned up the engine bay since the other pic, as best I can for now, and added the HKS intake with hard piping. I'll be taking most of this off to polish and paint it eventually ๐
Aw sick a hot air intake
High quality purchase on my behalf
The best way to lean out your engine
I'm presuming with the MAF without a retune it's going to lean the engine out without a tune trying to compensate for the intake? I plan to have the car mapped once it's on the road
Yes
Believe it or not the factory intake is all you need untill you hit like 400hp
Oh I'm aware
I bought the whole intake kit for the hard pipes, but fit it regardless
Just the HKS pipe, after the MAF holder is what I was after ๐
Its not so much the intake for me its more the fact that its not sheilded off at all so its just sucking in hot air
I'm surprised HKS didn't make any shielding for these tbh man
This is how they came, it's braced to the car, that's well thought out but that's it
Hmmm, it wouldn't be so hard to make some shielding up tbh, would be a nice side project
I could use the existing bracing the kit comes with to mount up a heat shield maybe?
Some aluminum sheeting will probably do the trick
Could look at some other intake systems and see how they mount them
Yeah I'm thinking the same, I used to run two of the mushrooms on my FD and I loved the sound they make.
I'm pretty nostalgic for old HKS shit, as my FD had the SSQV and mushroom filters 8-9 years ago and a Hi-Power exhaust, making up somekind of Sheild to keep the IAT low sounds like a fun idea ๐
Purchased a Titanium Strut brace from a Spec-C Impreza, still looking for a few more OEM parts
Possibly after the Spec-C optional Intake piping. But it seems it's a costly addition.
Y tho
