generally the best recommendation if you're from the US is to have a debit card with a bank that doesn't charge conversion fees or atm transaction fees
like schwab
and then you would just use that debit at atms in japan
but if you don't already have that then four days probably won't be long enough

Use ATMs at 7-elevens using a debit card. You'll get a better exchange rate than the scam exchange at the airport.
