He is VERY unlikely to see this
This is just a shift in the world ๐ technology. Things change. Gotta adapt
It's annoying but hey.. I don't think it will stop
๐คทโโ๏ธ
There are awareness campaigns a lot
Signs everywhere
i've been going to japan since 2019 and this was the case since at least back then but most assuredly even before then
if you're expecting old people to scold younger people for that, i don't think that happens at all
and i've seen older people just as glued to their phones lol
True ๐
I mean.. It's kinda uncalled for for a stranger to scold some random person tbh. Unless what they're doing is VERY bad and unusual
I would think.. In lots of countries
But since this is such a common problem.. You'd definitely be wasting energy, and a disgruntled, annoyed person left thinking "what's THEIR problem"
yeah i'm not sure what "personal responsibility" is supposed to mean
older people will do cleaning in the area by their home or work but would they scold a younger person for littering? probably not
Also for reference.. I AM a young person living in Japan :p but yes.. I try to not be too annoying phone wise
Ehhh this one... Maybe, tbh
Litterers deserve to be scolded ๐
imho
But that's a different topic xp
Littering is WAY worse socially
Here
i think one of the tokyo subways switches their signage to use whatever animal it is that year
for the calendar
And they even have a Japanese term they coined for this too, so yeah.. Japan IS aware
ๆญฉใในใใ, (arukisumaho), walking while using your smartphone
Or in short, Aho-kun.
Other than awareness.. Family members and friends getting on people's case..
lmao this means.. Idiot ๐
I know.
Can't really go fining everyone, except maybe for some obviously dangerous cases. Like someone crossing at a busy street on a red light while smartphoning xp
So... It is what it is lol
Oh. The original message was deleted lol
Ah well. It would've been easy choice for himself anyway because there's no retirement visas.
i guess we aren't cool
I'd be worried that as a tourist I'd be a nuisance aiming my phone's Google Translate everywhere.
as long as you aren't pointing it at peoples faces you'll be fine
i'd say most japanese are aware that cameras can be used for translating things nowadays
Thank you, but I'd still be saying sumimasen if people see me do it!
unnecessary but if it makes you feel better
