Maybe this instead? This allows you to use the swords but does not have you dress up in armour. Sessions are at an old Kyoto townhouse resembling a residence that samurai would live in then.

I saw in Osaka castle they had a thing where you can try on the helmets and clothes and pose with katana for photos
Yes I’ve been eyeing that but I’m based in Osaka so what I posted might be more convenient
Oooooh that would be fun I’ll check that out!!
Noted. Session is only 2 hours and having to take a day trip to Kyoto would eat up time that you have planned for in Osaka.
Yeah and I remember there wasn't a line for it either at the time, I went on Monday
@unique patio You're in Osaka now?
No, I leave for Japan next Tuesday. I’m in Kansai from 3/23-3/30 Based in Osaka.
I could do it the morning of the Nintendo museum but I was going to just wander Kyoto/do temples and such. Or the morning I arrive off a night bus to Kyoto but I’m arriving at 6 am and should use that time to my advantage to go somewhere normally busy
That day is morning in Kyoto, then train to Osaka to go to grand sumo (klook “tour” leaves at 13:45) then I think the plan is hotel check in, sento then maybe walk around Osaka.
Really the night is based on energy level I’ll have coming off a night bus in to town and a full day
i remember @cobalt totem went to the nintendo museum and said he had a time of it getting there - remember it's not in kyoto city so you'll need to budget a little extra transportation time depending on when your reservation is
Yeah took 3 line changes and almost 2 hours from osaka
It is in Uji area, right?
I remember having quite a long trip to get to Costco lol
The one in south Kyoto
Cost quite a bit even though it was just one bus
700 yen
yes, Ogura
That’s what you get for taking the prefecture bus. Drive next time, pleb 😛
no but fr will drive u for hot dog
The sushi was worth it
this is why I'm making a day of it in Kyoto and getting there from Kyoto lol
that certainly helps!
@unique patio Since you're in the Uji area, why not visit the following places in Uji while you're there.
The mini islands on the river:

There are 4 picturesque bridges connecting the 2 islands and to both sides of the Uji river.
Perhaps I check one of these out after Fushimi Inari.
