#Epic Games Not updating

Elite Dangerous through GFN run from EPIC accounts almost always takes days or even weeks to update. I have placed multiple tickets for this issue ongoing for at least over a year. Can’t ever get an explanation and it is never corrected, still an issue. Currently the game can’t be played because it needs an update. I just don’t get it. And the game updates Thursday morning. Which is typically when frontier updates. It’s now Saturday. Game still unplayable. However, through Steam it is. But I’m playing Epic. 😞

If I try to update it myself it will try then game will shut down I get this error

I have contacted support and I just got a link to how GFN does patch updates and that it can take sometimes “a few minutes” maybe a “couple hours”
We are now on day three and counting. I have contacted customer support at least 6 or 7 times maybe more and it is always the same. That’s why I was asking here. It is what it is I guess. Just doesn’t seem an important enough issue to address.

Ok. but can you explain why a game goes down for maintenance then game comes back up. GFN within hours at most can run the game if you own it through STEAM, but with EPIC it never updates for multiple days and even weeks. This is not what GFN promotes or advertises as it relates to patch notes. It’s a legitimate fair question. If it can’t be fixed or will not be fixed, and it appears that is the case, I’m just trying to understand why? It will help me make an informed decision about continuing the service or buying games in the future.
Just trying to understand the update process. Obviously in this case there is a gap.
