#GFN Instant Replay - Corrupted videos & other issues

Hey,
Hope someone can help with this. Been having numerous issues for weeks now with GFN & can't find anything that works.
To be clear - Yes, I am using GFN and not Geforce Experience.

When I press Ctrl-0 to save the last 5 minutes of footage: I'm lucky if it will actually work.

1 - It will take a significant amount of time, 3-4m, to actually save the video file when previously it was 10-15s max.
2 - See screenshot. The footage can be seriously corrupted. I transferred the video file to a phone to test whether it was maybe a playback issue but no, it's a source file issue. Major artifact issues across the video and audio is all over the place.
3 - When it DOES work, it doesn't record the last 5 minutes. I've had multiple videos of only 4m20s in length and recently 3m30s in length.

What have I tried to fix it?

1 - Complete reinstall of GFN.
2 - Changed the gallery folder for recordings.
3 - Wired and Wireless connections.

I need help.

Anyone:
A - Know why this is happening?
B - Else experiencing it?
C - Know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Wrong server for support.

My apologies, I mis-read. Have you tried using GFN as admin and also closing any apps in the background that may take videos in the background.

I owe an apology as well to be fair. I'm sorry if that seemed far more abrasive than I intended it to be.

No apps that record in the background.
I'll need to test running it as admin. Just for clarification - Right click, Run as Administrator yes?

It's hard to definitively say if it is actually 'fixed' as there are short spells where it does 'work'.
I'll need to test it for a while then wait for a corrupt recording to know for sure.

Update:
Admin level raised recording wasn't 5m, only 3m30s. GFN session had been open for about 15m at this point.
Took about 2m just to save.

No corruption on video but not working properly.

Also, I should say - storage space isn't the reason.
150GB of free space on that drive.

2nd video: 3m39s.
Still not 5m but not corrupted.

Settings are definitely for 5m. See screenshot.

I think it's best you contact NVCC Support for this issue as I'm unaware of why this is happening and you've tried what I would've suggested too.

# mental stone I think it's best you contact NVCC Support for this issue as I'm unaware of why ...

Just thought I'd give you a quick update on this.
You're more likely to see someone asking a similar question in the future.

I contacted NVIDIA. No known issues.
Did some testing for them. Couldn't get it to resolve.
Said I'd come back to them in a few days after some more testing and in the process worked it out.

It's a local RAM issue.

I was under the belief that GFN would use server GPUs and CPUs to process the game and server RAM to store the instant replay in short term memory. Then, pressing Ctrl-0 would pull from the GFN server RAM and write to native disk.

In reality:
GFN server GPUs and CPUs process the game.
LOCAL RAM stores the instant replays.
Ctrl-0 pulls from local RAM and writes to disk.

By switching from forced integrated GPU for GFN (it's streaming so it didn't need the GPU) to the 1660Ti in laptop, it worked flawlessly.
I can only assume that it's then using the short term memory of the GPU which exceeds the 1.75GB available RAM which was bottle necking the recordings then causing corruptions.

Thanks for the help and pointing me in the right direction. :)

I see, that's quite weird, glad the issue is solved though.

Look at this: the highlights are corrupted. no matter what time you set 20secs or 5min. It happens anyways kekL
