Nothing beats learning a language by talking or just hanging out with a native
That's how I picked up mandarin
TRUE HAHAH i grew up with pinoys
the only con is idk how to spell the words right because I learn everything by hearing lol
same for chinese with me, i get confused when saying words like eye (YÇnjÄ«ng) and glasses (YÇnjĂŹng)
It helps to talk to a native but limited to mostly casual unless they could help to suggest ways to learn formal words haha
A way to learn is by watching documentary, interviews & movies to listen to how they pronounce the words. Then repeat after them, practice by speaking to others!
If you have no one to practice with, record yourself & try listen. See how you can improvise from that!
Writing in bullet form especially in journal or do-to-list; it can help you improve in your writing skills!
You can also learn one word by word by searching for one word; make a sentence or 3 per day. Every time you learn a new word, try to use that in your daily life.
example: wall in Japanese is ćŁ (Kabe) so write ćŁ & stick to your wall.
Make use of your surrounding & until you know the words by heart; keep it there
this is just how I learn Japanese & how it works for me. Everyone learns differently so find a way how youâd be able to learn the language of your choice efficiently
My boss personally likes to play duolingo & talk to me to learn Japanese lol
he doesnât often have time to learn language so that was what he does.
reminds me of michael scott learning spanish
i find it easy to pick up languages pretty quickly by watching tv shows in those languages
i managed to learn how to read (but not really understand most of it) korean without the help of any apps just by watching korean variety shows
then again korean alphabets are really simple đ«
gwenchana?
gwenchana yo
I actually learned a lot of English from games
Playing some visual novels just immensely improved my reading and writing skills
The other two I managed to improve by speaking with English speaking folks, and a lot of silly mistakes
Oh and switching OS to learning language is a good way to repeat words
Oh wow that's pretty next level. I'd be so lost in that mode.
sorry, what's OS? :o
I was xd, but it worth it

there is this saying that: to learn a language, you learn the bad word first
i meant really, do you really learn "arigato" before "baka" ?
Good point
Feel like if I made a thread on 'the first words you learn from a foreign language', the thread will be filled with only vulgarity
