It basically boils down to what exactly you're trying to make
Some games like Minecraft benefit from a 3D world generation, others will do just fine with standard terrain
I don't think my game with be voxel. If that is what you mean. It is pixelated 3D first person.

this is the kind of graphics you'd expect from marching cubes. You can make it look more refined, but doing so would greatly decrease performance
