I'd love to get that 'dragged from the pelvis' look too, however I think because the arm and leg bones are oriented in opposite directions, there's some weird things going on with the force direction 🤔 (this is Blender's auto-rig, and I don't have the time/experience to go under the hood with bone orientation)
Do you have experience using springkit vs boingkit?
I use SpringKit currently, but haven't used it for anything IK/Rig related, mainly makiing UI juicy.
Having a quick look at the demo, it still may achieve your goal with some work? It seems that you basically define the hierarchy of bones, where a bone here is a bone script component put onto an object, which I suppose could also be the literal bones of your puppet rig.
The developer of the asset has been super responsive in the past, so it may be worth asking them how to achieve your idea.
