I think I found a bug, i tried to find if I am missing something but no one could help and its quite a simple issue, could have to be with my machine, but I am not sure, [here](#📲┃ui-ux message), I wonder why there isn't a channel to discuss this sort of things without spamming the other channels such as this case in #📲┃ui-ux. In a dedicated bug channel one could present the potential bug with ease and offered feedback, its a bug? its not a bug? was reported? "please report the bug in (...)".
PS: this has a tag "Issue or Bug" i assume this is on the server not as I am mentioning in the engine, since this channel is called #1161868835423526933
#bug channel

im not sure how that has to do with this server?
this channel is, as you mentioned, about this discord server specifically, not for asking for help with anything else
the question you linked seems to be about unity itself, so this channel isn't the right place to ask about it
This is a community discord, report bugs to the right channels
i am not reporting a but, i am requesting a channel to discussing bugs
In a dedicated bug channel one could present the potential bug with ease and offered feedback, its a bug? its not a bug? was reported? "please report the bug in (...)".
all the help channels are appropriate for discussing bugs in each of their topics
if there's an api bug, #archived-code-general, import bug #🔀┃art-asset-workflow, etc
there you would be able to actually ask people who have experience with the relevant feature, to see if it's perhaps expected behavior or not
well i hav a diferent opinion, i did ask for help, it seems a bug, i am not sure a bug channel could be useful IMO, there are Unity emplyees, dedicated members here that would probably only pay attention to this bug channel since most often the general channels for each topic is not bug related
definitely a starting point
i did ask for help, i think 3 people tried to help, no one understands what is actually happening, I wont file a bug report just yet but i would write in a bug channel, although i will not ask again on a general channel
but this is not about my problem, this is a general request for a bug channel, i think its useful for users and unity itself, even just discussion over already submited bug reports
most employees that are in this server don't seem to be active in this server. and still, there's the issue of not getting the bug seen by someone with the right expertise
if you suspect a bug, go report it
just discussion over already submited bug reports
we can just make threads for this
i am not getting why you are so adamant in defending that "we cant" get a bug channel
i don't think it'd be useful
we have a channel for reporting and discussing bugs already, the unity bug tracker
like, that's its point, to track bugs
an extra channel here isn't going to have much purpose
where?
i dont see it
Unity is the ultimate game development platform. Use Unity to build high-quality 3D and 2D games, deploy them across mobile, desktop, VR/AR, consoles or the Web, and connect with loyal and enthusiastic players and customers.
ok its not a channel
it's accessable from directly in the unity editor as well
sorry i meant "channel" in the general sense, not a discord channel; mb
ok, look I get it, you dont think its useful, i think it is.
in conclusion, filing a bug report involves ideally making sure its a bug, testing and all that, i understand you think the place for discussion is general chats, i think that is definitely a starting point but from the moment no one there can help you, and you dont have time to properly report the bug, a dedicated channel for bug discussion where people that are interested about bugs may pay more attention, test on their machines, serves as a buffer before you submit the report. could also serve as a discussion associated with that issue tracker. I use discord for many things that i could use websites, that doesn't mean we have "prevent" a new channel just because there is other ways to discuss this topic.
if you have time to ask about it here, you have time to file a bug report. it's really not that time consuming, you just click a button in the editor and fill out the info that you wouldve asked here anyways
lol, that should be a formal setting, this is not a formal report. this is a discussion
my button its not working with mouse click on "play focused" although touch works fine and if its "play maximised" the mouse works as intended
this is probably fine as a bug report message
just gotta give more context (even asking here, same thing, tbh)
honestly i think that, if you didn't get any answers from asking here a few times, you're not gonna get any more from a dedicated channel
If something is not working as expected you post a question in an appropriate channel. If you or anyone else determines that it's a Unity bug (usually isn't) you file a !bug report. There's no point in discussing bug itself here.
