When the chain is not extended, the bones would just be stacked so close together the chain is not visible
Maybe scaled down too if the mesh sticks out
i got this...actually i am new to bones and animation in blender.. such basics help a lot
The difficulty ramps up quick so it's best to proceed gradually
There are some pitfalls just exporting any kind of rigged and weighted character, even without fancy stuff
sorry, but how do i constrain a bone to move and rotate it using curve...i think i just got lost in blender ocean again
One way I know of is to have another mesh that uses the curve modifier, then each bone is constrainted to corresponding geometry of that mesh
But if I had to do it I'd look for other options because this is a bit much work for my taste
