in my work, when I have a problem, I sometimes start typing out my question to one of my coworkers, and oftentimes as I'm typing out my question, I realize the answer to the issue that I'm having, and for a while, I felt stupid for this
And more recently, I've actually started doing this intentionally to because it helps force me to think through the problem, by explaining it to somebody that might not know about the problem, and I oftentimes end up finding my solutions this way
It feels a little bit like Rubber Duck Debugging ๐
Ha! That was the exact thought I had! I think what tripped me up was that I've never, EVER had to deal with the idea of integer variables being treated more like references than fields, so in my inexperience, I forgot that Funcs explicitly treat all of their variables as if they were references, more or less.
