Think 2 seconds. Do you really believe this technology is useable. At best, it is laughable.

If you want my opinion, we are going to see a progressive onboarding AI technology.

  • You can expect to see Code Assistant to become more and more developed, reducing the repetitive task for coding. (In a progressive manner)
  • You can expect artist to rely more and more on AI for things like LOD Generation, Texturing or Mesh Optimization.
  • You can expect to see more and more Technology utilizing the power of AI such as DLSS, Procedural Generation or like the latest unity demo, cloth simulation.

This won't be a sudden change like some people might believe, it is going to be a slow process like it has been for the last 50 years.

If you strive to be a game developer, my advice would be to not be afraid of AI, but to embrace it whenever it make sense. Keep a realistic viewpoint and ask yourself at any point if it really is increasing the quality of your game or your productivity.
