Nope
Think 2 seconds. Do you really believe this technology is useable. At best, it is laughable.
If you want my opinion, we are going to see a progressive onboarding AI technology.
- You can expect to see Code Assistant to become more and more developed, reducing the repetitive task for coding. (In a progressive manner)
- You can expect artist to rely more and more on AI for things like LOD Generation, Texturing or Mesh Optimization.
- You can expect to see more and more Technology utilizing the power of AI such as DLSS, Procedural Generation or like the latest unity demo, cloth simulation.
This won't be a sudden change like some people might believe, it is going to be a slow process like it has been for the last 50 years.
If you strive to be a game developer, my advice would be to not be afraid of AI, but to embrace it whenever it make sense. Keep a realistic viewpoint and ask yourself at any point if it really is increasing the quality of your game or your productivity.
okay, that makes me feel fine then, studying game development in my second year and i just love it and i dont wanna see AI take my future job away 😉
