How did y’all come up with your company’s name? I can’t get any ideas, and I was wondering how y’all got yours.

Using other names as inspiration and using random words based on what the company is about though I skipped the last one

Does WolfTownGames sound like a good company name?

I originally needed a pseudonym for experimental projects.

But coming up with the name took months and Red Iron Labs was decided because it represents forging steel, hot off the forge, or experimentation. It worked out well and let me secretly test games for quality.

Later when founding a new company (and long after the pseudonym was no longer needed), we started with a list of 110 names, and narrowed it to 10 and included it in the list. We sent it out for voting with my prior fan base, and they voted it in. Kind of lucky in hindsight as I had the domain, a logo, and everything already at the time.

Much later on we then rebranded the logo.

I like WolfTownGames, however, having the first two unique let's you branch easier. And our brand advisor constantly wants us to switch to just Red Iron. So getting it two words is probably better.

The shorter and more rememberable the name the better it is

Thanks y’all, this helps a lot, and shops u write the name differently, or does it look good the way I posted it? Like: WolfTowmGames, WolftownGames, Wolftown Games. Which one looks better? And in the future if it becomes somewhat popular I can switch it to Wolftown, or Wolf games. Something like that I guess.

I put a unnatural amount of thought into it. It depends on the goal of the team or company.

Indie in a basement? Keeping games in declares who you are.

Building a studio with 10+ FT staff? You don't need games, locals should know who you are now.

Wolftown is of course your decision at the end of the day. But I'd check if a) it's already taken (not just the website but the LLC name), b) if it might get confused with an actual town, c) conveys what you'll be working on for duration of the company

Ok makes sense, I did some research on the name and there is a game and a company already with that name, so I did some research for the name LoneWolfGames and there is no company with that name, just a game that I found after a ton of research call LoneWolf. So I might go with that since nobody has taken that name.

I'm a furry. My fursona is a wolf-lab hybrid, so I came up with WolfLabStudios. My state requires me to slap some sort of extention on the end so I put an Ltd at the end of the incorporation papers.
