its just a white screen
its refusing to write to the video buffer

it finally decided to write to the video buffer
and not just be a completely white window
alright
what do we start off with here
what screenshots from where do you want to begin with
well i have blender open too just in fucking case
we have said tank (the axis STILL wont properly align idk why)
then said wheel with still semi-fucked up axis
only thing change pivot from center to pivot
otherwise, the wheels dont go on the mesh
where the hell is that
i already have a rigidbody on the main object
why would i put one on the wheel, it wouldnt allow me to put a mesh collider onto it
dont put meshes on wheel
those go separate
all you need to do is have the rigidbody point the correc way
dont put mesh colliders on the wheels?
and the wheel is fixed
why did no one tell me that before
and why did that not work before

is there any way to have unity use a camera similar to blender
what would that be ?
you probably wont be able to change anything functionality wise in terms of orbiting scene cam and how to do all that
just shortcuts for certain things
instead of the camera pivoting around itself
it pivot around a point
i hate the unity camera
with a burning passion

the rest of the tank doesnt have colliders
ur supposed to do it on the main rigidbody not thee wheel
and a main box collider on tank

no the tank is getting a mesh collider and you didnt specifiy where to put those
the tank already has a main rigidbody
rigidbody needs a collider

and so I assummed the wheels as thats what we were talking about, and putting a rigidbody on the wheels fixed that
the tank has had a rigidbody the entire time
wheel need no rigidbody
well then they face wrong direction
u just need collider on main box collider
then you have to make ur box collider face the right direction
look at the gif above
you dont use a mesh coollider for the main chassy rb
the main chassis RB is the entire asset
because then its an armature
which then every mesh is parented to a bone within that armature
all this is irrelevant to the vehicle rigidbody
how is the vehicle having a collider irrelevant to the vehicles collision
because you would simplify the colliders to be primitives
using mesh collider is shite optimization and rigidbody doesn't like mesh collider unless convex
no actually rigidbodies dont like convex mesh colliders
it must be kinematic if its convex
what if i need collision based upon the actual tanks mesh and not a box around it
pretty sure i've used the engine long enough to know thats not true
for depends on the purpose
also the main rigidbody chassis can still have children colliders

well for my version of unity, that is true
i could not have a non-kinematic rigidbody and a convex mesh collider on the same game object
perhaps watch a couple of videos on how to make vehicles specifically tanks
watching videos is the bane of my existence
when I did , it works fine

they are all ancient
and are like all overcomplicated

every time I google some issue with Unity or blender
They give me horribly out of date results
That are completely different major versions of what I’m using
