Your specs are
4GB RAM
Integrated Graphics 64 MB RAM
Core 2 Duo CPU
SSD (OS)
HDD (14+ years old)

#

I assume it is a stationary PC, and not a laptop?
@hollow sapphire

hollow sapphire
#

It's a Desktop

frosty stump
#

a tower or smaller form?

hollow sapphire
frosty stump
#

It the PC itself as big as gamer-PCs?

hollow sapphire
#

it takes a whole desk

#

but it's not that big

frosty stump
#

by PC, I mean just the box with the core hardware, like CPU and RAM

#

if it's smaller, it's probably one of those that are designed to lay on the side, with a monitor on top.

#

(Anyway, that's less important overall)

hollow sapphire
#

what should i do?

#

imma be real you need a new pc straight up

#

i dont think you can even play any games let alone use an engine

Hardware

  • Clean the PC for dust, to reduce heat generation (but do not do this alone if you haven't done it before)

  • Get more RAM (might not be sold for that PC anymore)

  • Get a graphics card, if possible

  • Try using a USB Memory stick with Windows ReadyBoost to increase your RAM and potentially improve performance.

Software

  • Remove all unnecessary software and disable background services.

  • Tweak Windows Theme settings to reduce overall GUI strain.

  • Remove unnecessary packages from the Unity Project.

What about the cpu

#

Like im sorry but

#

This pc simply aint cut out to do anything nowadays

hollow sapphire
#

Isn't there any jobs, even less money will work for me

?

I have done my best to optimize the pc

#

i don't have much software

#

regular cleanup

Regarding hardware upgrades; old hardware is usually very cheap. The PC isn't compatible with the new stuff.
But yours is so old, I'm not sure it can be found anymore.

Not that I know.
If you have money, there are Cloud Computing solutions. Maybe with Free Trials. But I haven't tried any of that.

hollow sapphire
#

if it required money or any credit then i am out

frosty stump
#

Last thing: Thermal Paste
How long since it was last applied?

hollow sapphire
frosty stump
#

Ok. It's recommended to reapply as often as every 3 or 6 months. I can't recall. Not many do that anyway.
But 1 year or more, means a reapply will probably help.

hollow sapphire
#

since i did that

#

OK let's leave this i will be using unity

#

on potato

#

so no need to struggle

frosty stump
#

Lastly, I don't know what types of optimizations you've made.
There are many tutorials online which can probably help to some degree.

But there's only so much that can be done, when using such old hardware, to make 3D games with terrains.

ReadyBoost might be your cheapest, best option.

The only other thing I can think about, is the extreme measure of using Windows 7's server version (Windows 2008 Server R2) modified for desktop (by using the Win2008Workstation community OS tweaking application).
That was the only thing that made my old rig run League of Legends smoothly.

Good luck with it all and have a nice day.

# hollow sapphire No worry

PS: In Unity, separate objects to multiple scenes. You can load multiple scenes at a time, or just individually. Then it doesn't have to be laggy all the time.
