#every big game uses unreal
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Unreal is specifically geared for big studios to make big games in
Unity on the other hand supports more platforms with less porting work, and in my opinion doesn't require such large teams to use effectively
perfect
Which is probably why there are more Unity games, but more big Unreal games
alright, once i get proficient in unity
There's a lot both to list though, which you can google fairly easily if you're interested
ill switch to unreal
👍
If your goal is to work in big studios at some point, then learning Unreal also is probably very beneficial
But they are really similar at the end of the day
vfx works the same on unity right?, use textures and particle emitters to create what you want right right???????
cause im switching from studio
to this soo
I think particles are fairly similar across engines generally
Unity has Particle System and VFX Graph
any plugins or anything useful i need ?
since there plugins on studio that allow me to emit stuff
at once
also uhh
oh naw 💀
this a virus
I would recommend to start looking into Particle System tutorials
https://youtu.be/Eua7G7Vct0A perhaps one such as this
Unity Hub requires access to internet through firewall to check your account credentials and to update the editor
Once you're familiar with the Particle System, next I would look into what the Universal Render Pipeline and the High Definition Render Pipeline are capable of
Especially important if VFX are your goal, since either of the two is required for the VFX Graph tool
VFX Graph is a lot fancier, but more complicated to use than Particle System and does come with some specific limitations

The Visual Effect Graph gives artists of all experience levels the power to create amazing visual effects. This node-based system is both easy to use and flexible, empowering artists to create stunning VFX quickly.
