This is a thread

Basically a sub-chat

Anyways I'll continue with writing my ideas

I'll give you a small guide for creating games:

  1. Think about what you actually want to achieve. As you're just beginning, don't go too ambitious and don't think about the details.
  2. What should the player be able to do in the game? Switch weapons? Pick up weapons? Double jump? Once again, don't be too ambitious. Keep it simple at first.
  3. Begin with the core, the basics. Make a small scene (dont add details!) in which your character can move around a bit. Then add the basic player movement. I recommend thinking about the extra things you want to add to movement before starting to code anything, so that you can make sure you wont have to completely redo the code to add a feature
  4. Once you like the basic movements, start adding more. Before programming even more things and running into problems, think about HOW you are going to add the features you thought about in step 1.
  5. Once you've figured out how you'll be implementing the features, find tutorials for them. Don't understand a certain piece of code? Use the Unity documentation. Does the documentation not help (which is quite common if you're not a Unity wizard), just look it up in a search browser. There are soooooooooooooooo many answers online. Always google things BEFORE asking others! google_it
  6. Start programming the features. Run into problem and Google nor any documentations can't help? Ask here.
  7. Finally implemented most of the features you want in the game? Add the environment. As it's just a beginner game, this doesn't have to be too detailed nor big. Keep things simple. But if you're wanting to become an Indie dev, PLEASE learn modelling and texturing (Blender basically), it will make your life so much better.
  8. Go through your game, let others play it and ask for constructive feedback, then polish it off and you're done.

Basic guide for making simple games

LOL

#

It's not that much

#

Please read what I said before making the game...

#

The information should help you out with a lot

#

😐

#

2020 is very recent

  1. So you'll need basic movement and good jumping physics.
  2. Are the obstacles moving or stationary? You might want to add moving abilities in the air
  3. Yesn't
#

So uhh, why do you want to add physics to a ball @quiet forum ?

#

How does that relate to parkour

#

If you have questions give me a ping

#

don't

#

don't spoonfeed people

#

that's the worst way to teach them

Ok then

#

I'll teach him

I teached over 25 people so this will be a piece of cake

I have been a programmer for 2 years and a game developer for a year

If you don’t know how to add physics too a ball then maybe it’s a little too early for a 3rd person parkour game

Why not start simple with a basic game?
