It's normal (if you upgrade through every level) for the Upgrade Cost to only go up every 2nd level. By your Percent Increase ^2 (ish - it starts worse than that, but that is what it tends towards).

As far as I can tell, if you 'skip' levels there is a (slight) effect on your Upgrade cost (bit worse). But main effect is your Idle Profit won't increase as much as if you'd gone through every level.

Easy to do maths on, and work out the formula behind the game.

Going into the negatives can be forced - by upgrading several levels at once, in specific situations. No benefit to it long term - in fact 'hurts' your Idle Profit increase - but some people like doing it.

@prime hill If you're interested, this is a graph of data I have for Upgrade Cost by Level. You can see on my runs (green and purple) that it goes up every 2nd level).

I'm pretty much on the 'cheapest' upgrade cost - because I have a low Percent Increase.

You have a High (almost the highest) Percent Increase - so your Upgrade Cost at each level is significantly more than mine was (and it will get worse - your Percent Increase will always be higher).

What's Semblance's Idle-Game about?

SIG, AKA Semblance's Idle-Game, is an RNG idle-game that uses a currency called Random-Bucks
If you're confused by the acronym RNG, it's an acronym for "Random Number Generation/Generator", which means that everything is kind of random and runs on random chance in the game. Everything that is random within this game is the cost multiplier per upgrade, starting profits, and the amount your profits increase.

You have to collect Random-Bucks manually every once in a while, that is how the game works.

What's Semblance's Idle-Game about?

SIG, AKA Semblance's Idle-Game, is an RNG idle-game that uses a currency called Random-Bucks
If you're confused by the acronym RNG, it's an acronym for "Random Number Generation/Generator", which means that everything is kind of random and runs on random chance in the game. Everything that is random within this game is the cost multiplier per upgrade, starting profits, and the amount your profits increase.

You have to collect Random-Bucks manually every once in a while, that is how the game works.

For info: I reset 5 weeks ago and am now on level 59. I got virtually the best starting stats ||(% Increase 1.25; starting Upgrade Cost 4.125; starting Idle Profit 0.099)||. I have been playing 'efficiently' afaik ||(upgrading through every level - irritating AF for the initial 2 days, don't know how effective it is)||. It took me 1.5 weeks to get to your level (51) - at which point my stats were ||Idle Profit 4.174, Next Upgrade Cost 608197, and that level took me less than 2 days)||.

SIG, AKA Semblance's Idle-Game, is an RNG idle-game that uses a currency called Random-Bucks
If you're confused by the acronym RNG, it's an acronym for "Random Number Generation/Generator", which means that everything is kind of random and runs on random chance in the game. Everything that is random within this game is the cost multiplier per upgrade, starting profits, and the amount your profits increase.

static cosmos So resetting is good? What affects idle profit?

RNG at the start.

After the start, goes up by between 5-10% (RNG) per level (if you upgrade every level). If you 'skip' levels and upgrade multiple levels in one go it looks like you don't (generally) get as good an increase. But not v sure about that (I could have been unlucky in my testing).

Once you start, how and when you upgrade seems to be the only thing you can really do to affect your progress (because of the above).

Pretty sure Upgrade Cost is deterministic once you start (although has complexities which make predicting it hard).

SIG, AKA Semblance's Idle-Game, is an RNG idle-game that uses a currency called Random-Bucks
If you're confused by the acronym RNG, it's an acronym for "Random Number Generation/Generator", which means that everything is kind of random and runs on random chance in the game. Everything that is random within this game is the cost multiplier per upgrade, starting profits, and the amount your profits increase.

You have to collect Random-Bucks manually every once in a while, that is how the game works.
