"at the end of the year" would make much more sense, albeit that would remove the "semblance using fancy phrases and words making the topic sound more interesting" effect, but perhaps it enhances the "semblance using synonyms and definitions of the main event without actually mentioning it or mentioning it once to make the topic sound more interesting" effect.
