On Android, since the alpha and the beta/main versions are on separate apps, you can keep your alpha version indefinitely, even though it's not being updated anymore. I still play it at times to see if I can get to the new stuff before it's released on beta. (And because I clearly have no life.)

Some beta feedback: I entered it fairly endgame, and I've bought a lot of the later upgrades, and I think "Entropy Booster" and "Metabit Booster" could use more explanation of what they do. I'm at a point where it seems like fast runs to pick up like 2e16 purple metabits per run, then buy boosts, then do a slight bit better in the next run is the optimal path. But I have trouble wrapping my head around what "entropy efficiency" and "metabit efficiency" even mean when trying to deicde if I should get those vs. simulation speed or a boost in a whole vertical (like 4x primordial life), which are easy to understand. Boosting entropy boosts ... what? Just flat gain more entropy is my best guess, but I'm not 100% certain what I'm buying.

I'm sure if I started to standardize exactly when I prestiged each run and took notes, I could pin it down 100% what each does, but I don't care to and I doubt many will, so the game should probably spell it out.

I think it's maybe a simple language switch. I think both boosts (and the corresponding idea tree ones) are actually "X% increase to [currency] production" but it says "efficiency" instead. "Efficiency" seems to be used throughout for generators so you know it to mean "multiply by 1.0X for its outputted currency" but that mental framework does not work for these boosts because, like, entropy does not output entropy.

You will eventually max out the logit store just from playing the events. And right now, everything in reboot is wildly different from production.

As far as reboot sim upgrades, don’t worry too much, because continual resetting will help you recover what you spent in bad purchases.

But even then, you will eventually need to purchase everything anyway. I don’t like purchasing the “tap” upgrades, because I don’t tap much. But you HAVE to buy them in order to unlock other similarly priced, more useful upgrades.

The speed at which you go through the sim matters, because of the cycles. The more cycles you can get at your max production rate, the more entropy and metabits you will get.

Because the cycle rate decreases over time.

You probably need to do another couple of upgrades in order to ensure you can unlock neoaves more easily.

There’s not really any cheating in this game. They give you all the tools to play pretty much however you want.

I do not have the glitch, or mollusks, as I did not transfer my alpha save. Knowing that, I managed 83. It wasn’t pretty, and I am definitely not making 84, until things unlock.

It’s already probably thousands of years worth of time skipping.

Since beta was the same as public during the alpha program, the beta program was effectively paused for 5 months. After RR becomes public, I'm pretty sure beta will return to its regular mode of testing new explorations, Beyond episodes, etc. But like you, I also wonder if Amphibians and Science Rev will be released separately. I think we were all hoping to have Beyond 29 and Mollusks by the end of the year, but I don't think that'll happen at the current pace.

Try doing this - this will double your simulation speed. But note that you lose all the Primary Simulation achievements, so you will need to earn them all again. @weak apex I actually see having to re-achieve your Legacy primary sim badges as a positive thing, since you earn a couple hundred darwinium in getting them back. And with the 2x boost, it doesn't take too long to get back to where you were before. Plus, you keep your exploration badges, and everything from Meso and Beyond is untouched, so when you get those upgrades in the reality engine, they make a big difference. My point is that I haven't yet come up with a strong reason not to do Legacy as soon as you can.

Not really sure what there is to debate about Legacy. Its purpose is to let the general public play through the full reality reboot sim (after reality reboot goes live for everyone) from the beginning, while keeping all your Meso & Beyond progress (and achievements), as well as all your exploration badges, darwinium, and logits. So your primary sim research level definitely goes to zero - it kinda has to in order to start from the beginning. You also start with zero entropy, idea, metabits, and knowledge - again, b/c you're starting over. Last, you lose all your primary sim achievements, BUT that's not a bad thing since you'll get them all back anyway by playing the game, and you get darwinium for each one - a couple hundred in total.

It's just the way these kind of games go

Balancing decent progression with cool stuff, and sometimes that means you need to stop adding cool stuff for a bit to refine progression if you're getting reports it's too fast or too slow

I guess the question is whether people who had not initiated the Legacy Protocol before this build got this pop up as well? I had initiated it some time back so am wondering whether that messes up with the code and resulted in the pop-up.

I also get frustrated with this - everyone from alpha has seen Mollusks and the new stuff around Science Rev, Industrial Rev, and Atomic Age, so it's not like it's a big secret. They're probably paring down beta to make it resemble what will be the first release of the production version, and I get that - your final beta should be identical to what you want to release for production. But for beta testers, it looks like the game is shrinking, and it's frustrating to go backwards.

Yeah, we'll probably be waiting for a while - weeks, at least, maybe months. Remember the general public doesn't even have amphibians yet, so that'll probably be released with Reboot. Next will be either the new Science Rev stuff or Mollusks, probably not at the same time. And I'm predicting Science Rev will be first, to even things out. And my predictions have never been wrong! (since yesterday)
So TL;DR: Feel free to smash Caps-Lock as much as you want, but I don't think we'll be getting Mollusks in 2025. (But I hope I'm wrong!)
