Not for some things. Games are designed for that in mind, have 4K assets, so it's a good fit. If I want maximal visual fidelity, that's the way to go. 1440p is great though if you don't have a lot of money and still provides a very good experience.

It's also an objective fact (which I pointed out, and they agreed) that a 1st gen Intel mobile CPU will not be able to run Windows 11, and that Windows 10 will no longer get security updates later this year, and therefore it logically follows that if they want to keep their system running and secure, they need to upgrade before that happens. It's also a fact that a system with the config that old will not run the majority of modern games, though ofc it will run many older games just fine.. again, this got mentioned. I would also like to repeat that this convo did not bother the people involved, and ended amicably. As to running on a laptop-level hard drive instead of a ssd, that was mostly amazement on my part that they could stand it.
