At 17, I struggle to narrow the slightest amount of job choices I have in this world, and whenever I do, I keep worrying if it would have any non-obvious effect on me. The common wisdom is that I should follow my interests when choosing a job but I know I shouldn't because it would take away the fun from my interests and leave me no energy to do it offwork And on that note, I can’t find a single job that even slightly interests me because I have a hard time keeping my emotions away from my logic, being that whatever the case I need excess money, time, and energy to spend on my interests which actually do provoke likable emotions, And I imagine that in every hypothetical workspace, the only things that would go through my head are to leave work hours, spend time with my friends, and draw to my heart's content, and that would lead me to screw up my objective and lose that particular job and force myself to spend time gaining requirements to have a new job in a neverending cycle of dissatisfaction And on the topic of requirements, my mom says to go to college so I can have a lot more opportunities for employment in whatever I choose, but that ties back into the interest section, plus in the real world degrees are worth less than actual experience which I have absolutely none in the marketplace since my parents want me on this straight path that they never had the chance to walk when they were kids And it really feels like a chimera of dilemmas just following me around now that I’m almost a legal adult and its difficult and I dont know what to do.

There's a species of australian snake called the "Gliding snake" and is exactly what it sounds like.

It jumps off of trees and is capable of gliding short distances.
