My experience is that no, it's absolutely not worth it to restart without enough to buy speed upgrades. The mined metabits increase is trivial, and the price of mined metabits increases much faster than that of entropy and ideas.

2nd achievement is the King of the Beast. You get this by tapping Archie the Archosaur right next to the TRex.
3rd achievment is Monkeying Around. You get this by tapping a monkey multiple amounts of time until the apes dab

The more entropy/ideas you get, the more metabits you get, then you restart, which gives you more metabits, which you spend on reality upgrades (mainly simulation speed), then after you reboot the simulation, you will get more entropy/ideas which means more metabits etc...

In order for the darwinium shop to properly work in the Steam version, you must run the game from the Steam client and not just run the .exe file. Running the .exe file bypasses the client and makes the shop disappear.
