I think it would still be best to use them early in order to get to that stage sooner. At least the first one. A single Diamond Geode gave me the equivalent of like 4x-6x generation. So I can say that without it, it would take me about 4-6x longer to get to those higher ranks

every prestige rank gives you 100 plus minus 20 darwinium. at least it was like that at 5.35 , so I remember I bought one at halfway Prestige 0 buying some Darwinium with RL money to open a Diamond Geode. it helps a lot. But since upgrading cards give diminishing returns, after 3 diamond geodes I haven't bought any. And all 3 was at rank 50.

Ah, true, since the number of cards you get is constant, there is some pretty extreme diminishing returns on geodes. Did not consider that.

I remember I have used it in main simulation when I tried to jump the last 3 martian things. Bought some idea bursts for 4 Darwiniums. Other than that I also bought Diamond Geodes. I think once or twice time flux and that is all. I have almost 500 Darwiniums at the moment and nowhere to spend.

So your basically tapping and tapping to get these things called entropy

#

you unlock upgrades and buy them with your entropy

#

you start from the beginning of life, all the way to the futture. (Cells, to robots, to the colonization of mars)

#

You also get something called ideas, which you will find later in the game. Get metabits, restart the simulation, and get better. There is also a dinosaur simulation called the Mesozoic Valley.

@pulsar scroll so, when I first started... i got 10 of each life form, and then all the upgrades I could get. Then, when the higher-up lifeforms were too costly, I went back and got up to 50 of each lifeform... that opened up new technologies to get, which makes the lifeforms produce more entropy/sec. Once I hit the ideas part--the ages-- I did the same thing. First, 10 of each, then up to 50.

You tap for Entropy (the first resource), upgrade stuff, eventually unlock a resource called Ideas(which you'll tap on the big brain for ideas), do more upgrades, and you'll keep getting further. Also, the end at the moment has colonization of mars and sentient robots 😄 @rocky glacier

I'm not sure if there is actually an upper limit of how much you can buy a generator. But at some point, it just won't be efficient any more - or rather an other generator will be more cost efficient.

That depends on what upgrade you're referring to. If you mean every single entropy and idea upgrade, I then have no clue. If you're referring to the metabit upgrades, then it's proximately between 100-150 million.
