If you want to farm entropy/ideas/XP to go up levels and the leaderboard, you might want to sit for a while before upgrading your universe.

For both Metabits/knowledge and entropy/ideas/XP the x30 shooting stars are handy in combo with an auto-clickers/nanobots/tapping to get some extra without hanging around too long.

If you're running all three red dwarf missions and are checking in often enough to collect them soon after they're complete, they give you constellation fragments more frequently than the constellation fragment mission. They also give you dark matter and occasionally darwinium...and (ep30 spoiler) ||some of those Series I cards will be useful in the last episode||

Just came back to the game yesterday after a year. What are the priorities for reality engine and darwinium spend? Is there a guide somewhere as wiki has nothing?

You might want to consider resetting your sim to start fresh and get a better idea of what you're doing - it's an option in the menu that only resets your main sim, not any of the others.
If not, it somewhat depends on your play style and how far you are, but I don't think there are really any bad choices when it comes to buying stuff in the Reality Engine, but it is generally best to spend rather than save between sims. I'd also advise spending your Research Chips evenly between the entropy and idea bonuses.
And as for spending Darwinium, the general consensus is buy cheap upgrades (the first few levels of each), then modules, then the rest of the upgrades. Augments are comparative to upgrades in their practical effects, but some unlock more nodes on the tree and/or secret achievements.

Was nearly maxed on old reality engine, have gold earth, Research level was 50 and now 59, all logit non-cosmetic augments bought, various darwinium bought and can buy more. Started e30 yesterday, meso done 4th prestige

I can check my Reality Engine (just behind you at 58), but I don't think there are any specific nodes you really need to prioritize at this point, unless you want to go for the empty sim strategy (not playing the main simulation at all for two weeks for the tradeoff of better profit when you pick it back up, but it is boring).

For the most part, I don't think there's any specific nodes you really need to focus on at most points in the game. I hear the term "vibes-based play" thrown around a bit in reference to other aspects of this game, but I think it fits well too for making Reality Engine purchases

I tend to go from most to least expensive upgrades.
Time chambers are tricky. You can stay in a sim for a while to get more benefit from them, but the fill bars for metabits and knowledge also slow down over time.
