Random question but if you have friends that play the game are you able to visit their respective sim or boost it? Or does it just show basic info of your friend

It shows them in events (no matter which dim they are) and you can see which challenge level, and how much science.. but not their rank or their dim#.. otherwise, no, you can see their info (RL, badges, etc) same as you can see your own

If you didn't upload a save in Save Manager inside the game to the cloud, you might be out of luck, but idk.. Your best bet would be to go to the device you last played on (that has progress you want to keep) and do that upload from that device. That's my suggestion

Then you likely will need to start from the beginning again. Next time you may want to do the cloud save like I suggest, I go back and forth between Cells on iPad and Steam on PC that way, no problems

resetting quickly is the optimal strat, though it might get boring and annoying

Doesn't really matter atm. You've unlocked everything in primary so - while you can put effort in now - it will likely be much quicker and easier to progress after the next update.

But depends which income you're interested in. If you're interested in entropy/idea income then buy things to boost them. If Metabits/knowledge, focus on those things.

Time Node Growth will help, but less so than spam-rebooting.

For best metabits/time ratio: very often. Although be aware of the (sometimes there) counter that increases metabit fill reqts each time you upgrade.

For sanity ... When you can be bothered. But bursts followed by a gap may be better (because of the 8 Time nodes).

Chris Titus' WinUtil is excellent, but you can actually pre-debloat a fair bit on a new install with a autounattend.xml text file present on a new installation. schneegans dot de has an online generator for this which makes it very easy. Also, for Win 11, IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 already omits most of the bloat, and you can even uninstall Edge if you want.

And given my career trajectory of data science and research, I'm likely to use Python at wherever I work.

Rust is big on memory safety, that's got some big advantages, I understand. .. Yeah, those other 3 are very popular, though Java is really an Enterprise thing these days. And for data science, there's stuff like Julia and R that are used a lot I think? .. probably noone uses APL anymore, though that is one of the languages (like LISP) that is useful mostly for opening your mind for how computing works.

But the subject of computer languages is a big topic, to be sure. And if you are developing on Apple, Swift is the one you use.

I have heard very good things about Lisp. It's like C++ in that it tends to be ahead of the trend on abilities. It was a superpower for a long time. I used Java when I was a junior dev at O'Reilly Auto Parts, definitly an enterprise language. R is easy enough, and I've heard of Julia, but never used it. Never heard of APL, though I did not start out in life being a tech or coding person. I had to pick it up in the last five years.

I have heard of Swift, especially for gaming on mobile, though Java/Kotlin is still used some to make it compatible with Android, too. I've used Javascript a bit, and I know it's important, but man is it weird.

Javascript is LISP-adjacent, but with C-style syntax, kinda. It does have many foot-guns, and so yeah, no surprise most people use it via a framework

(Javascript also has nothing to do with Java, and was coded VERY quickly, for historical reasons that we are all dealing with, now, unfortunately)

All the Darwinium + Logits items are just numeric multipliers to production and sim speed instead of what they were pre-revamp. Idk if they also do unlocks, but going into the store to my own, they don't say that they do in the description. giant squid is the same to all of that.

What I don't know is if those unlock parts of the tree now.. I don't think so, but I'm not certain... bc at the time of the revamp, I had Reality Engine maxxed out, and so that translated to lvl 52 and tons of nodes in RE already filled.

I don’t think we can do anything.. either you have a save there or you don’t. In future, it’s best to use the Crossplatform save in the Save Manager, and upload your save to the cloud, with a Cells login that you create. That’s been 100% reliable for me

there really isn't much difference. since the 2^x buff applies to both currencies based on the total number of chips only
though if we take 50/50 as the base, switching to 70/30 would boost a currency by 1.4x but slow the other by 1.67x

I think that:
For XP (which afaik depends on both entropy and idea production /s multiplied together) it's best to split evenly. Cos - using 120 as an example - 60 x 60 is a lot more than 119 x 1.
If you specifically want entropy or ideas, best to prioritise one over the other.

Not sure though. Not tested.
