Afaik the 25-30 lifespan is not quite right. People tended to fie 50-60 of weird agues and things. But it was dragged down by massive child mortality, as well as other mid-life causes.

I think the more critical thing is how much excess resource a civilisation can generate so it can afford to support people who are paid to think, rather than grow food and clothe themselves

I think feral is technically a domesticated species (which somewhat comes down to their breeding being controlled to develop certain desirable traits) which 'escapes' from domestication.

In reality - like many things - there:s a lot of grey between the black or white cases. And ofc humans aren't technically domesticated.

You can repeat events for more badges, and should. Each event gives you 3 badges. They give you on average a 30% speed bonus for the next time you do the event + a 1% bonus on Primary.. and ofc there's those nodes in Reality Engine which use # of total badges as a multiplier

Yeah. And that if you want more NOW you can't just play more. It's capped at 3 badges per event, twice a week (because of the event schedule). If you want to have 30 badges in 5 weeks time, you have to play all the events between now and then.

So whenever you start the event, you're put into whatever the current Div is.. unless you would be the 1001 player for that Div, in which case a new one is started, and you are player 1 in that Div

Mostly no.
At that stage, they don't provide much (or at least, any noticeable amount) of stardust, so upgrading them wouldn't be worth it.
Then again, I say "mostly" no because, ASSUMING YOU DON'T NEED THE DARK MATTER FOR ANYTHING ELSE, you can upgrade those trait cards so that, when you reset and go round again, it'll be slightly easier.

Primary only resets when you tell it to, in Reality Engine.. and it only makes sense to do that when you've bought node(s) in the Reality Engine (to make those nodes take effect).. which you can afford by earning metabits in Primary

I'm currently just trying to get my Stage 2s all at the same level. Just to be tidy, not for any other reason. Because at a certain point you just have so much dark matter that there's no point in saving it.

I expect some will be needed for E29 and 30 and maybe if anything happens after that. But I figured, I'll have more dark matter by then (the ongoing research missions and free things every 4 hours will keep my stash growing slowly).

Re stardust. Again, not much point but I got my ||Messier and Quasar|| to a round number, then am upgrading the levels of generators as I collect enough stardust. Might as well do something except watch ads while I'm checking in to collect stuff 🤷.

Yeah, the Beyond Stage 2 commons ... It def prioritizes giving you commons that are closer to the current episode (entirely sensible!). I was wondering about being 'slow' when E29 comes out specifically to collect more of the E19 commons etc. so I can level them out.

It's not like there's any rush 🙂.

Re Meso ... I'm always short of mutagen and I'm still working on maxing my golds. So haven't tried to level up the lower dino's yet. I did notice that after maxing out normal traits (the 2 giga ones) it stops giving you those completely. Hm? Maybe it isn't prioritizing higher levels in Beyond. Could it be doing things you've levelled more recently? That could end in a vicious circle of not being able to upgrade something because you're not getting cards, which results in not getting cards. I believe that's one of the Meso mechanisms (at least for normal traits, I'm not sure if it's the same for gold/silver).

The cards I notice as weird in Meso are Cretaceous and Feathers (I don't pay much attention to the normal ones). So much so at one point I spent 30 mins working out how many cards I'd ever got of the gold and silver traits (thanks, wiki!). I've just updated it (as it's vaguely relevant), see snip. The Y axis is amounts relative to Cretaceous (the one I have least of) not absolute.

2: Like I said, you keep the silver and gold trait cards. They aren’t affected, and you can continue to level them up, if you can afford it.
Regular trait cards, however, get reset. You’ll have to earn/level them up again.

3: As for mutagen resetting: I’m not sure. I can’t remember, but probably.

That’s all you need to do events. The more often you do events, the faster they will go next time (30% boost for the same event, 3% for non-events)

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. Completing the event and going to the first challenge level after that (technically CL2) will give you 500 science if you restart. If you finish CL2, then you get 1000 science (like Demonise's screenshot) if you go to CL3.

If you are at one of those points, and just waiting while the generators do their thing isn't allowing you to add to those generators (and thus give you 1 science each time you do), then you need to go to the next challenge level and continue

Yeah, if you prevent ads from working, it won’t let you do the ad boost. I get around it by using the content blockers on Safari.. I also have NextDNS which I keep toggled off unless I choose to play some other game or app and want the ads off.

I think you miscalculated. 950k divided by 7.93 makes around 120k seconds, which is a bit more than a day, that doesn't seem absurdly long.

I created a login and a password. I used a single use email - as in only used for CTS, not use once and then it's gone (just cos that's how I do things generally).

Afaik when you upload a file it goes to the CTS servers. In the bug reporting they often talk as if they might be able to find your save file.

The game seems to also do some synching with Google play. I have two devices with Google play. When I created a second login and password for the alpha app and set it.up on my second device, my main CTS account got moved to the beta leaderboard. I've not noticed Google play doing anything useful, e.g. it doesn't seem to have backup files.

Duck Duck Go is what I use to create the single use emails. Unlimited number and free.

It accepts emails sent to the account, strips them of trackers and forwards them to your 'proper' email.

You can disable emails individually (often easier than going through the unsubscribe dance) and makes it obvious which company has sold your data.

Needs a password manager to keep track of all the email addresses though, if you use generally (I have several hundred of them).

Ok, now, the wierd part is: if i transfer files (to the ssd) i get the expected speed. If I open up an encrypted test drive on that same folder, I get speeds that are.. impossible. I think. It was more than likely a combination of factors. It usually is when it comes to the extinction of a species.
