the only minor annoyance i have is that with ME2 and 3, it's not all that obvious when to do the DLC.. there's an optimal order for story flow.

yeah, that.. works well for ME2, you do Main->LotSB->Arrival. ME3... you really need to do one DLC early bc of.. reasons, then another 2 can be anytime before the end, really.. and then the best DLC (Citadel) before the final part of the main game. To put it simply 🙂

ME1, there's technically 2 DLC, but they can be easily ignored

I've never used a PS even if I know about them, and ME1, 2,3 are self-contained games, so it's possible that you would only need to install one at a time (note: on PC you would import save game from ME1 to 2 to 3, idk how it works on PS4/5)

Speaking of ads, mine are in that 'phase' I get occasionally where they're often 5 seconds ads for a bus from a nearby city to it's airport (which is my nearest).

These ads amuse me, because a) if I was going to fly from that airport I 100% would (and have) used that bus, and b) I'm never going to go and travel on that bus unless I have already decided to fly from that airport.

P2w? Not necessarily. 250 Darwinium isn't exactly whale territory. I think of that as a way of contributing to the game. Similar to paying to buy a game and in my app - that level of cost for those small Darwinium bundles are about the same as the price set to buy an indie game

(e.g. that's a lot less Darwinium than you get from using all the free codes!)

Having said that, the prices of the large Darwinium bundles seem odd to me (e.g. the 2000/5000 Darwinium bundles). Probably / possibly because I'm end game. But they seem expensive, and wouldn't affect my game much .

I would absolutely pay some amount of money (don't know how much, lol) for lifetime and-free though.

Fair. In that case save up what you get from leveling and the 25 darwinium you get every 2 weeks from the dailies, and just use it on the “mandatory” things on the Primary map. Don’t spend it on anything else.

(i only mentioned the infinity pass bc it makes early game go faster but you don’t really need it, it is just a convenience)

Like, “squid” and such. You can access all that on the logit store, and also you will see on the map shadowy things that if you click/touch on them they say what they will do and how much they cost.. sometimes it’s logits, sometimes darwinium

These days I only spend Darwinium very occasionally for time fluxes in events. Before I finished Meso I occasionally bought diamond geodes. I bought quite a lot of black holes in the past. And some of the things in the augmentation console. Mainly I'm saving it for the reboot.

Interestingly I just had to use one of my local back ups. I noticed that 400 Darwinium had vanished. I assume I had my phone on in my pocket or something and bought stuff. No idea what though. Only 8 hours of progress lost though, phew

As to why- simple. When the event was around for the 4th time, I forgot to collect the third badge. And so, for quite a while now, I had to live with having 4-4-3 badges. Next time, I was too eager pushing the big "open" button... 5-5-4 badges.

Now, finally, I have 5-5-5. All goals are completed, I got the closing speech from semblance. But obviously, I can't increase the challenge level

Right. I suppose you stop here and lose out on the two badges and what they give you, or you get them and do CL and maybe get more rewards as well. If your sense of OCD is enough that you choose to stop, that’s up to you

The end game is all nodes bought in Reality Engine, complete Meso, complete Beyond to it's current (28) and do new ones every few months when there is one.. and do events 2/week for the 6 badges.

Right. Once you have gotten all the things in Primary (I suggest 100x of each since that unlocks nodes) then max out the best generators.. the rest is Reality Engine and the progress you make there.. and THAT needs progress in Meso, Beyond, and Events (Badges)

.. and badges speeds up everything (mainly the event it's part of, 10% average per badge), but 1% everywhere else. When you have lots of badges, that really adds up

Heh.. well… in the olden days, and technically still today, Alpha is when the game is still being designed, and features are being experimented with, and testing is done to see if what works in theory also works in practice (and for games, that also means “is fun”). Beta is when it is feature complete but content is probably incomplete, there may still be quite a few bugs, numbers for skills may need to be changed, all that.

Now, public betas (closed or open) is for the feedback that people give, though in modern times, it’s also so people can see if they like it or not. Early Access, for games that have it, is… well, it kinda is like a beta you pay for, there’s also expectations of a certain base amount of content and quality

and ofc the general public often has no idea about any of this, and sometimes treats an alpha or beta like a released game, with all the discontent that tends to provoke

Leaderboards. ||The previous beta (before the reboot) had it's own leaderboard. As does the current alpha. While it might be there for the testing, and not 'real' ... It does imply there's a competition. I find cells generally not a 'competitive' game. But we do have that leaderboard.||

Novelty ||There's also the 'cult of the new': people will flock to new stuff and treat it as more important than existing stuff (weird). Or interesting (I get that).||

Confusion ||And there's confusion: during early cells alpha I think the Devs were wiping people's progress quite often. Then they stopped doing that. Now you can port in your existing 'normal' game to test. If you've ported your game file over, and are playing with the new cool stuff, you might naturally feel that that was your 'real' game.||

(also ngl there was some game-breaking bugs at various points: if you have access to a save file from then 🤷. Mind you, I don't understand the appeal of skipping content, just to be at the end.

I'll be spending my Black holes and Neutron stars when I get ||the new silver trait card|| that I expect to be in E29. There'll be time to save up again before E30.
