Oh, it does track- some events have not been around 10 times, the mini-event has only 1 badge (got it 3 times) and I simply forgot to finish maths one time (1 badge missing).

There are achievements tied to cat and dog, so the logits wouldn't be wasted, as such. They are just not the best for metabit production.

I wouldn't put it that way. They have the best potential to increase metabit production, yes. But the archeology trophies improve that too, they add to the civ garden and they unlock achievements. By the time the civ garden overhaul was complete, that was better for me than squid or capy.

the trait isn’t unlocked yet. when you first unlock a dinosaur, both traits are hidden—you can still obtain cards for them but you can’t use their effects. you’ll need to progress 1-2 more meso ranks before you can see and upgrade the trait :)

Each time you increment a generator, that's 1. Each time you claim a non-generator, that's 1. At the end of the event, you get a big boost by going to the next challenge level.. and at CL2+, instead of logits, you get some science instead.

What is it?

A special division for cheaters.
If the game detects you cheating (like, changing the time on your device to the next day so you can skip the 24-hour wait for daily mutations (I.e. daily rewards)), it’ll put you into division 666.
Apparently, it means you can never get good/great rewards in events, and you can never change it. I think-I have to admit I’m not exactly clear on it.
I’d say it’s about 98% effective at least. I say 98% because, and forgive me, I can’t remember the deets, some people last year told stories that they were switching from alpha testing to regular gameplay, but the game mistook them for cheaters, so they got placed into that division.

I think once the devs notice and / or pick up any messages about cheaters on the leaderboard they are removed from the leaderboard - I've def seen cheaters/hackers just vanish.

Being thrown in to div 666 for cheating is for events and - I think - largely happens automatically (or at least we don't have visibility, cos we don't see details of anybody in our div in any resolution).

I don't know what connection there is between being removed from the leaderboard and being put in div 666 - whether it's the same things or different, and the automatic / manual thing.

I believe that - as div 666 is full of cheaters / hackers - that it's hard to rank well in events.

I have seen people protest innocence about accidentally ending up in div 666, and (occasionally) being allowed out of it (I think).

I have seen people asking about the in-game warning you get if the game thinks you're messing around with your device time (some sort of red box,.and a warning about disrupting the continuum?)

The false positives are usually ppl moving from one timezone into another. Daylight saving time, otoh, doesn't seem to be a problem.

As for div 666, I don't think your game becomes unplayable. I had a convo with someone who was quite comfortable with having been branded as a heretic cheater. They could, however, no longer compete with others and I'm not sure what they were able to get from events (if anything).

take a look at the augmentations that give a buff to your beyond simulation but only buy the ones that will boost your most productive generators (i.e. jwst artifact is pretty much useless once you’ve progressed past the terrestrial planets)
you can also buy the augmentations that help you unlock secret achievements in the primary simulation :)

I believe there are leaderboards for normal players and those who have been tagged as beta / alpha players (when I joined alpha the leaderboard I can see is completely different, as is my position).

I have seen cheaters / hackers vanish from leaderboards, I don't know if there is another leaderboard for them.

Also, when I spotted a difference (a bit ago now) compared to someone else (normal, top 200) it fixed itself after a bit. Presumably was our game(s) synching with the servers.

There are about 210-260 divisions for each event, so 210k-260k active players.

There'll be all the players not doing events or e.g. who've finished it and stopped playing.

When I created a new account I appeared at about 350k in the leaderboard with a score of naff all.

I wouldn't worry about where you are. Maybe think about improving your rank; if you want to and it helps motivate you. I do feel that the gameplay is more solitary rather than competitive (events excluded, obvs). So if you hate Meso, and are happy to forego the effect on Metabit production, just ignore it 🙂. Leaderboards aren't that important!

If you're playing an event with few or no badges from previous playthroughs is the only time you have to do some "work" to finish, but other than that... it's an idle game.

You'll need to tap a lot initially, but eventually it gets to the point where continuous tapping would cause your fingers to drop off. So don't at that point.

You can (depending on your definition of grind) (iOS / Android):
A) click lots (imo helpful for the first 15-30mins (max) or so)
B) open the game often (like every 5-15 mins), collect the double ad bonus, use nanobots and buy your upgrades and generators (prioritise upgrades). Repeat. (Rather than long periods offline). I do something like this.
C) spend Darwinium to speed up bits (not worth it imo).

Yeah. The hardest battle is at and around rank 10. People will put a lot of effort in to get into the top 10 if they think they've got a chance - because the rewards are so much better.

There's also just the general thing of people checking in at the end and grabbing all the science they have.

And e.g. someone on Reddit a bit ago said they deliberately lurked in 11th without cashing in science points until right before the end (like what Sepheria said). I don't know how widespread that is, but there's A LOT of science points associated with the stage completions in the tea event.

I do find it frustrating that you lose sight of any idea of what people's science points are once you get to the top 10.

I find that a poor thing to do- delaying the chashing-in of science points. It's unsporting f*cktards like those that make me hate competitive elements in some games. That is, games that are usually solo player or cooperative.

And no, metagaming is not skill. It might not be cheating as such, but it has nothing to do with actually being good at a game.

As for battling for top 10: nothing below top 25 is worth anything to me. I have enough logits to buy all upgrades twice over, I have no use for geodes and even less for mutagen. The only prices I do have a use for are neutron stars and black holes. And that's why I only try to compete at all if it seems easy. I don't normally use time flux, or only one to get past a bottleneck near the end of a competition. Not worth it as I could just as well buy Black Holes and save the hassle

Series 2 - Alpha Centauri to Horsehead Nebula (27 generators) -could split into 2 if added more exoplanets, stars and more nebulas.
Series 3 - Orion Spur to Quasar 37 (and E29/30) (16 generators so far) - could move Orion Spur to Milky Way Galaxy into Series 2 (6 generators).

And there will be 3 badges to get, "can or bottle?", "boosting liquid", and "fruity", can or bottle: energy drinks do not only come in cans, they come in bottles too, boosting liquid: energy drinks have caffeine in it, wich makes you awake, but it doesn't make you have anxiety if you drink a bunch, fruity: energy drinks come in variety of flavors, strawberry, anti-sour lime or lemon, and watermelon

Well, Darwinium seems to be the key to starting and completing an event in the timespan of hours.

You misunderstood me when I said that. You get +30% for each event from the 3 badges total, that bonus applies for the specific event, however, when you pass 200% for that event, it stops being a linear increase, and so you get less and less for each event as it approaches a horizontal asymptote.. so eventually you would get just 1% for an event instead of 30% though I doubt anyone has reached that point yet. There’s also a separate global 1% that’s given that affects all non-events, idk if that remains linear or not.

One way is to buy things from the augmentation console - check the pins for recommended order.

Another way is to improve your multipliers for Metabit generation. You can check these in the Reality Engine stats. Progress in Meso, Beyond and collecting event badges help as well as buying the upgrades in the Reality Engine itself when rebooting.

Lastly, check how much your Metabit production would increase if you reboot - if significant then it's worth doing.

Progressing in Meso will also ||unlock extra generators in the primary sim||, which will help.

Make sure you're buying the most efficient generators too - don't try to even them out or anything, some will generate a lot more than others. In primary the ||sorting thing upgrade from the Reality Engine|| will help with that.

Are you collecting all the Darwinium you can and keeping your ad boosts maxed?

If you're feeling that Meso is slow you can buy diamond geodes (they're most effective at level 50 or close to it, but no harm in getting one now if it's feeling slow).
