I agree that it feels backward. The bug involved me losing a large number of unspent Metabits. I've been seeking Computer Lunch's help to fix my save, and I've even gathered the info needed to fix it. In the latest support email they said:

"I can't update your Metabits, but the Discord mod might be able to do that. Ask on the Discord server about this."

its not about the tiles, it's about the direction they're facing. Muslims are supposed to pray towards Mekka, which is usually marked in a mosque with such a tiled wall.
